Mounting the Sight
This sight is compatible with Shield RMS and Jpoint footprints, commonly found on compact and subcompact handguns. The mounting hardware is included. Zeroing the Sight
The sight features windage and elevation adjustments. Use the included adjustment tool to fine-tune the sight. While adjustments do not have audible clicks, this allows for finer tuning of the reticle's position. Adjustments are made on the side for elevation and on the bottom for windage.
Operating Instructions
Reticle and Brightness
The sight projects a 5 MOA green dot reticle for clear target acquisition. It incorporates a CT Radiant ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the reticle brightness based on the surrounding light conditions. There are no manual brightness buttons.
Power Management
The sight features a motion sensor for efficient power management. After approximately two minutes of inactivity, the sight will enter a low-power mode. After about eight hours of complete inactivity, the sight will shut off entirely to conserve battery life. To reactivate the sight, simply shake the unit.
Co-Witness Functionality
The RAD Micro Green Sight is designed with an integrated co-witness feature. A notched area at the rear of the sight allows for direct alignment with your handgun's existing iron sights. This provides a reliable backup aiming solution in case of battery depletion or sight malfunction.

Figure 4: View through the sight demonstrating the co-witness capability with the handgun's iron sights. The red dot is visible above the front sight post, allowing for effective aiming even if the electronic reticle is not active.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Lens
Use the provided microfiber cloth to gently clean the optic lens. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the lens coating.
Durability and Water Resistance
The sight's housing is constructed from 7075 series aerospace aluminum, providing robust protection. The optic lens is recessed to further prevent damage. The unit is IPX4 water resistant, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction. It is not designed to be submerged in water.
Troubleshooting
Sight Not Activating or Dot Not Visible
- Ensure the CR1632 battery is correctly installed with the proper polarity.
- If the sight has been inactive for an extended period (e.g., 8 hours), gently shake the unit to activate the motion sensor.
- Verify that the ambient light sensor is not obstructed, as this could affect automatic brightness adjustment.
- If the battery is depleted, replace it with a new CR1632 battery.
Loss of Zero
- Check the mounting screws to ensure they are tight. Loose screws can cause the sight to lose its zero.
- Re-zero the sight using the windage and elevation adjustments as described in the Setup section.
Using Iron Sights as Backup
In the event of a battery failure or electronic malfunction, the integrated co-witness design allows you to continue using your handgun's iron sights through the optic's window for aiming.
