4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Pre-Installation Checks

Ensure your door meets the following requirements for proper installation:

  • Door Thickness: 1 3/8" to 2 3/32" (35mm-55mm)
  • Backset: Adjustable 2 3/8" (60mm) or 2 3/4" (70mm)
  • Cross Bore Diameter: 2 1/16" (52mm)

4.2 Installation Steps

Follow these steps to install your KUCACCI Fingerprint Lock. A screwdriver is the only tool required.

  1. Mark the Door: Use the provided template to mark the necessary holes on your door.
  2. Install Latchbolt: Ensure the latch's square hole is placed horizontally. Adjust the latchbolt length if necessary (60mm or 70mm). Secure it with screws.

  3. Install Rubber Plate and Screw Casing: Place the rubber plate onto the exterior assembly, then install the screw casing.

  4. Install Exterior Assembly: Insert the exterior assembly into the door, ensuring the spindle passes through the latchbolt.
  5. Connect IC Wire: Carefully connect the IC wire from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly.
  6. Install Interior Assembly: Align the interior assembly with the exterior assembly and secure it with the provided screws.

  7. Install Batteries: Loosen the screw on the battery cover, open it, insert 4 AAA batteries (not included), and then close and secure the cover.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 App Setup and Pairing

The KUCACCI Fingerprint Lock uses the TTLock app for smart control. Download the app from your device's app store (Apple App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android).

  1. Download and Log In: Search for "TTLock" in your app store, download, and create an account or log in if you already have one.
  2. Add Lock:
    • Click the "+" icon to add a lock.
    • Select "All Lock" from the options.
    • The app will scan for nearby locks. Select your KUCACCI lock (e.g., N20_XXXXXX).
    • Rename your lock for easy identification.

5.2 Fingerprint Management

To add a fingerprint for unlocking:

  1. In the TTLock app, navigate to the "Fingerprints" section.
  2. Click "Add Fingerprint" and follow the on-screen prompts.
  3. You will be required to place and remove your finger on the sensor several times until it is successfully registered.

5.3 Unlocking Methods

Your KUCACCI Fingerprint Lock offers multiple ways to unlock:

  • App/Bluetooth Unlock: Open the TTLock app, select your lock, and tap the unlock icon. The lock will unlock via Bluetooth.
  • Fingerprint Unlock: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock within 0.3 seconds.
  • Mechanical Key Unlock: In case of battery depletion or other issues, use the provided mechanical key to unlock the door. Insert the key into the keyhole located at the end of the handle and turn.
  • Remote Unlock (Requires Gateway): To unlock remotely via Wi-Fi, you need to purchase and connect an additional gateway device. Once connected, you can unlock your door from anywhere using the TTLock app.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

The lock is powered by 4 AAA batteries. When the battery level is low, the lock will provide an audible warning. To replace the batteries:

  1. Loosen the screw on the battery cover located on the interior handle.
  2. Remove the cover and replace all four AAA batteries with new ones.
  3. Secure the battery cover by tightening the screw.

Note: If the batteries are completely depleted, you can use the mechanical key for emergency access or connect a micro USB cable to the emergency power port for temporary power to unlock.

6.2 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your lock:

  • Wipe the lock surface with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
  • Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KUCACCI Fingerprint Lock, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Replace batteries if low. Ensure the IC wire connection is secure.
  • Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint in the app, ensuring multiple angles are scanned.
  • App connection issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and you are within range of the lock. Restart the app or your phone.
  • Latch not engaging/disengaging: Verify that the latchbolt was installed horizontally and is not obstructed. Check for any loose screws in the assembly.
  • Battery not charging (if applicable): The lock uses AAA batteries and does not have a rechargeable internal battery. The USB port is for emergency power only, not charging.
  • Lock stopped working after exposure to water: This lock is not designed to be waterproof or highly water-resistant. Avoid exposing it to rain or excessive moisture. If exposed, dry immediately and check functionality.

8. Warranty Information

The KUCACCI Fingerprint Lock (Model KU-N20) comes with a One Year Product Warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use. Please retain your proof of purchase for warranty claims. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, or improper installation.
