4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your dishwasher hose kit:

4.1. Preparation

1. Turn off Water: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your home or the specific shut-off valve for the dishwasher's water supply (usually under the sink). Turn it off completely.
2. Gather Tools: You will need an adjustable wrench, a bucket or towels to catch any residual water, and the included Teflon tape.
3. Clear Area: Ensure the area around the dishwasher and water supply connection is clear and accessible.

4.2. Connecting to the Dishwasher

1. Locate the water inlet connection on your dishwasher. This is typically a 3/8" compression fitting.
2. Apply Teflon tape clockwise around the threads of the dishwasher's water inlet.
3. Determine if an elbow adapter is needed for your dishwasher's inlet. If the inlet is a 3/8" MIP, use the provided 3/8" MIP elbow connector adapter. If it's a standard 3/8" compression, you can connect the hose directly or use the 3/8" Comp x 3/4" FHT elbow if preferred for angle.
4. Connect the appropriate end of the 12 FT stainless steel braided hose (or the chosen elbow adapter) to the dishwasher's water inlet. Hand-tighten first, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not overtighten.

4.3. Connecting to the Water Supply

2. Apply Teflon tape clockwise around the threads of the water supply valve.
3. Connect the other end of the 12 FT stainless steel braided hose to the water supply valve. If your supply valve requires a 1/2" connection, use one of the provided 1/2" adapters. If your supply valve is 3/4" FHT, use the 3/8" Comp x 3/4" FHT elbow.
4. Hand-tighten the connection, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not overtighten.

4.4. Leak Check

1. Slowly turn the main water supply back on.
2. Carefully inspect all connections for any signs of water leaks.
3. If a leak is detected, turn off the water supply immediately, tighten the leaking connection slightly, and re-check. If the leak persists, disassemble the connection, reapply Teflon tape, and reassemble.
