Setup and Installation

  1. Prepare the Micro SD Card: Insert a high-speed (Class 10 or higher) Micro SD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the dash cam's card slot. Format the card within the dash cam's settings menu before first use.
  2. Choose Mounting Option:
    • Suction Cup Mount: Clean the windshield surface. Attach the suction cup to the desired location on your windshield, ensuring it does not obstruct your view. Press firmly and flip the lever to secure.
    • 3M Adhesive Mount: Clean and dry the windshield surface thoroughly. Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad and firmly press the mount onto the windshield for at least 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully bond before attaching the camera.
  3. Attach the Dash Cam: Slide the dash cam onto the chosen mount until it clicks into place.
  4. Adjust Camera Angle: Loosen the screw on the mount to adjust the camera's angle. Ensure the lens captures a clear view of the road ahead, with approximately 60% road and 40% sky. Tighten the screw to secure the angle. The camera can be rotated 3600 on the mount to record different directions if needed.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the Mini USB cable to the dash cam and the car charger. Plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Route the cable neatly along the windshield edge and dashboard using the provided crowbar tool to tuck it away.
  6. Power On: The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: The camera powers on/off automatically with the vehicle's ignition. You can also manually power it on/off by pressing and holding the power button.
  • Recording: Once powered on, the camera automatically starts loop recording. A red flashing dot on the screen indicates recording is in progress.
  • Menu Navigation: Use the physical buttons on the side of the camera to navigate through the menu options on the 3-inch LCD screen.

Loop Recording

The dash cam records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the memory card reaches its capacity, the oldest unlocked video files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures that you always have the most recent footage without manually clearing the card.

G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)

The built-in G-sensor detects sudden acceleration, braking, or impacts. When a significant force is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a protected folder on the SD card, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical incident footage is preserved.

Parking Monitor

When enabled, the Parking Monitor feature allows the dash cam to automatically record short video clips if it detects a collision or significant vibration while your vehicle is parked and the engine is off. This provides surveillance for your vehicle when unattended. For continuous 24/7 parking monitoring, a hardwire kit (sold separately) is recommended to provide constant power.

Motion Detection

With Motion Detection enabled, the dash cam will automatically start recording when it detects movement in front of the camera. This feature is useful for capturing events when the vehicle is stationary but not necessarily impacted.

Night Vision (WDR)

The Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology helps the camera perform optimally in varying light conditions, especially at night. It balances bright and dark areas in the image to produce a clearer and more detailed video, reducing overexposure and underexposure.

Comparison of driving recordings with and without WDR, showing how WDR eliminates excessively bright spots and corrects color balance for a clear image at night.

Maintenance

  • Clean the Lens: Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality.
  • Format SD Card: It is recommended to format the Micro SD card every 2-4 weeks to prevent data corruption and ensure optimal performance, especially with continuous loop recording.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the official iZEEKER website periodically for any available firmware updates to improve performance and add new features.
  • Operating Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures outside its specified operating range (-40F to 1400F / -200C to 600C) for prolonged periods.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Dash cam does not power on.
  • Check if the car charger is properly connected to the cigarette lighter socket and the dash cam.
  • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is on and the socket is receiving power.
  • Try a different USB cable or car charger.
Camera stops recording or freezes.
  • The Micro SD card may be full or corrupted. Format the card regularly.
  • Use a high-speed (Class 10 or higher) Micro SD card from a reputable brand.
  • The camera might be overheating in extreme temperatures. Ensure proper ventilation.
  • Reset the device using the reset button (if available) or by disconnecting and reconnecting power.
Video footage is blurry or unclear.
  • Clean the camera lens.
  • Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lens.
  • Check if the windshield is clean where the camera is mounted.
Time and date reset after power off.
  • The internal battery (for settings retention) may be low or depleted. This is common for dash cams that rely on external power for operation.
  • Ensure the dash cam receives continuous power when the vehicle is running.
G-sensor is too sensitive/not sensitive enough.
  • Adjust the G-sensor sensitivity setting in the camera's menu. Lower sensitivity for fewer false positives, higher for more detection.
