With app notifications and a loud audible alarm, you can be informed of leaks whether you are home or away.

2.1 Components

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

Each water detector requires 2 AAA batteries. Use the provided battery cover opener to access the battery compartment and insert the batteries according to the polarity markings.

3.2 App Installation and Connection

To set up your INKBIRDPLUS WiFi Water Alarm System, follow these steps:

1. Download the App: Download the "TUYA SMART" app from your mobile app store or scan the QR code provided in the manual. You can also visit https://smartapp.tuya.com/tuyasmart. Register and log in.
2. Add Device: Click the "+" icon on the app's homepage to add a new device.
3. Select Device Type: Select "Others (Wi-Fi)" or "Water Detector Alarm" from the list of available devices on the "Add Manually" page.
4. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your preferred 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Note: The device is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. Ensure your router is set to 2.4GHz or has a combined 2.4GHz/5GHz network where the 2.4GHz band is accessible.
5. Reset Device: Power on the alarm gateway. The indicator light should blink rapidly. If not, reset the device by pressing and holding the Volume/Connection button for 3 seconds until the indicator blinks rapidly.
6. Configure: Plug in the alarm gateway. The indicator will flash red for 30 seconds. Click "Next" in the app to start configuring.
7. Completion: Wait a few seconds. The alarm indicator will light up blue for 5 seconds, indicating successful device addition.

4. Operating

4.1 Working Modes

The system offers four distinct working modes, controllable via the app:

• Disarm: All water detectors are inactive.
• Arm: All water detectors are active. Any detected leak will trigger the alarm.
• Home: Allows individual setting of each water detector.
• SOS: Tapping SOS in the app will make the alarm sound immediately, useful for sending a distress signal.

4.2 Alerts and Notifications

When a water leak is detected, the system provides two types of alerts:

• Audible Alarm: The spherical alarm gateway will sound at 125dB.
• App Notification: You will receive an immediate notification on your smartphone via the TUYA SMART app.

4.3 Placement Guidelines

Place the water detectors in areas prone to water leaks or overflows to ensure comprehensive protection. Common locations include:

• Under sinks (kitchen, bathroom)
• Near washing machines or dishwashers
• Around water heaters or sumps
• In basements or utility rooms
• Near toilets or bathtubs
• Next to fish tanks

Ensure the water detector is placed flat on the surface where water might accumulate. The water detector cannot be installed vertically.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the devices with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the alarm gateway in water.

5.2 Battery Replacement

When the water detector's battery is low, you may receive an alert via the app. Replace the 2 AAA batteries in the water detector using the battery cover opener. Ensure correct polarity.

5.3 Waterproof Rating

The water detectors are IP66 rated waterproof, meaning they are protected against powerful water jets. However, they are not designed for continuous submersion.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

• Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. This device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  • If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one SSID, try temporarily disabling the 5GHz band during setup, or ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz band.
  • Make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong where the alarm gateway is plugged in.
  • Reset the alarm gateway and try the connection process again.
• No app notifications:
  • Check your phone's notification settings for the TUYA SMART app to ensure notifications are enabled.
  • Verify that the alarm gateway is connected to Wi-Fi and online in the app.
  • Ensure the water detectors have sufficient battery power.
• Alarm not sounding:
  • Check if the alarm gateway is plugged in and powered on.
  • Ensure the water detector is placed correctly and the water sensor contacts are fully immersed in water during a test.
  • Verify the system is in 'Arm' or 'Home' mode in the app.
• Incorrect app for control:
  • The official app for this device is TUYA SMART. While some users have reported success with 'AvatarControls', the recommended and supported app is TUYA SMART.
