- Use the provided microfiber cloth to gently clean the lenses and screens. Avoid abrasive materials.
- Ensure the USB-C port and battery compartment are free of debris before closing.
Battery Care
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid fully discharging batteries before recharging to prolong their lifespan.
- If the camera feels warm during extended use, especially during high-resolution recording, ensure it has adequate airflow. Consider using a tripod or mount that allows for heat dissipation.
Waterproof Integrity
The HERO10 Black is waterproof up to 33ft (10m) without additional housing. Always ensure all doors (battery/USB-C) are completely closed and latched before exposing the camera to water.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Camera Overheating:
The camera may become warm during intensive use (e.g., 5.3K recording, live streaming). If the camera shuts down due to overheating, allow it to cool down. To mitigate, ensure good airflow around the camera, avoid direct sunlight, and consider reducing video resolution or frame rate for extended recording sessions.
- Short Battery Life:
Battery life varies with usage. High-resolution video, Wi-Fi, GPS, and continuous screen use consume more power. To extend battery life, consider:
- Turning off the front display when not needed.
- Using lower recording formats when high resolution is not critical.
- Disabling Wi-Fi and GPS when not in use.
- Reducing screen brightness.
- Camera Not Responding:
If the camera freezes, press and hold the Mode button for 10 seconds to force a shutdown. Then, power it on again.
- MicroSD Card Errors:
Ensure you are using a recommended, high-speed microSD card. Format the card regularly within the camera's settings to maintain optimal performance.
