3. Setup Guide

3.1 Handle Assembly

1. Carefully remove the mower and all components from the packaging.
2. Unfold the telescoping handles until they lock into place. Ensure all locking mechanisms are securely fastened.

3.2 Battery Charging and Installation

1. Connect the battery charger to a standard electrical outlet.
2. Insert the 5.0Ah 40V Lithium-Ion Battery into the charger. Allow the battery to fully charge before first use. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.
3. Once charged, open the battery compartment cover on the mower.
4. Insert the charged battery into the active battery slot until it clicks securely into place.
5. If using a second battery for extended runtime, place it in the secondary storage slot.

3.3 Grass Catcher Bag / Mulch Plug Installation

1. To use the grass catcher bag, lift the rear discharge door and hook the bag onto the mower's frame.
2. To mulch, ensure the mulch plug is securely inserted into the rear discharge opening.

3.4 Adjusting Cutting Height

1. Locate the single-point height adjustment lever on the mower.
2. Pull the lever outwards and move it to the desired cutting height setting (1.5 inches to 4 inches). Ensure the lever locks into position.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting the Mower

1. Ensure the start key is fully inserted into its slot.
2. Pull the bail handle towards the main handle.
3. Press and hold the power button. The blades will begin to spin.

4.2 Engaging Self-Propelled Feature

1. While holding the bail handle and with the blades spinning, pull up on the self-propel engagement levers located on the handles.
2. Adjust the self-propelled speed using the speed control dial on the handle to match your walking pace and grass conditions.

4.3 Mowing Tips

• For best results, mow dry grass.
• Overlap cutting swaths slightly to ensure an even cut.
• Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time.
• The 5.0Ah battery can typically cover a 1/2 acre residential lot twice on a single charge, depending on grass conditions and self-propel usage.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• After each use, disconnect the battery and remove the start key.
• Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, which can affect cutting performance. Use a brush or cloth; avoid direct water spray.
• Wipe down the exterior of the mower with a damp cloth.

5.2 Blade Care

• Regularly inspect the cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull blade can tear grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn.
• If necessary, have the blade sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician.

5.3 Battery Care and Storage

• Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity.
• The battery charger typically takes overnight to fully charge a depleted battery.

5.4 Storage

• For compact storage, fold the telescoping handles down.
• Store the mower in a clean, dry area, protected from weather elements.
