The VS-92530 Plus model includes a camera head with built-in self-leveling and a 512Hz wireless sonde, along with a meter counter for precise distance measurement.

2.1. Camera Head

The camera head is a 25mm diameter Sony CCD sensor, equipped with 12 bright LED lights for illumination in dark environments. It is IP68 waterproof, allowing for submerged inspections. The VS-92530 Plus camera head also features built-in self-leveling to maintain an upright image orientation and a 512Hz wireless sonde for locating the camera's position underground.

2.2. Control Unit

The control unit houses the 10.1-inch high-brightness LCD screen, control buttons, an SD card slot for recording, and a full QWERTY keyboard for text input. It is designed for ease of use and portability.

3. Setup

  1. Unpack the System: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the control unit and a suitable power outlet. Allow the unit to charge fully before first use (charging indicator will show status). The system can also operate while charging.
  3. SD Card Insertion: Locate the SD card slot on the control unit. Insert a compatible SD card (up to 256GB, Class 10 recommended) with the metal contacts facing down, until it clicks into place. This is required for recording images and videos.
  4. Camera Head Connection: Ensure the camera head is securely connected to the fiberglass push cable. The connection should be watertight.
  5. Initial Power On: Press and hold the power button on the control unit to turn on the system. The LCD screen will display the live camera feed.

4.1. Control Panel Functions

  • Power Button: Press and hold to turn the system ON/OFF.
  • LED Brightness Adjustment: Controls the intensity of the camera's LED lights. Rotate the knob to increase or decrease brightness.
  • M/FT Switch: Toggles the meter counter display between meters (M) and feet (FT).
  • Counter Reset: Resets the displayed distance on the meter counter to zero.
  • Camera Switch (C1, C2): If multiple camera inputs are supported, this switches between them. For single camera systems, this may not be active.
  • SD Card Slot: For inserting the SD card for media storage.
  • Text Input (Keyboard): Use the integrated keyboard to add text annotations to recordings or images.
  • Charging Power Indicator: Displays the current battery charge status.
  • Zoom In/Out (8 Levels): Magnifies or reduces the live image on the screen.
  • Image Capture: Takes a still photograph of the current view.
  • Record Video/Audio: Starts and stops video recording. Audio is recorded via the built-in microphone.

4.2. Performing an Inspection

  1. Prepare the Camera: Ensure the camera head and cable are clean. Adjust LED brightness as needed.
  2. Insert Camera: Carefully feed the camera head into the pipe or area to be inspected. Use the push cable to guide it.
  3. Monitor the Feed: Observe the live video feed on the 10.1-inch LCD monitor. The self-leveling feature will help maintain an upright image.
  4. Use Meter Counter: The built-in meter counter will display the distance the camera has traveled. Reset it at the starting point of your inspection.
  5. Record Findings: Press the 'Image Capture' button to take still photos of points of interest. Press the 'Record Video/Audio' button to start recording video segments. Press again to stop.
  6. Utilize 512Hz Sonde (Plus Model): If you need to locate the camera's position, use a compatible 512Hz locator (sold separately) to detect the signal emitted by the camera head's sonde.
  7. Retrieve Camera: Once the inspection is complete, carefully retract the camera cable from the pipe.

4.3. Playback and Data Transfer

Recorded images and videos are stored on the SD card. To review them, navigate to the playback menu on the control unit. To transfer files to a computer, remove the SD card from the slot and insert it into a computer's SD card reader.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Vividia VS-92530 Plus inspection camera.

  • Cleaning the Camera Head: After each use, especially in dirty environments, gently clean the camera lens and housing with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Cleaning the Cable: Wipe down the fiberglass push cable as it is retracted to remove any debris or residue.
  • Control Unit Care: Keep the monitor screen and control panel clean and free of dust. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not spray liquids directly onto the unit.
  • Battery Maintenance: For optimal battery life, charge the unit regularly and avoid completely draining the battery. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50% every few months.
  • Storage: Store the system in its original case or a clean, dry, and temperature-controlled environment when not in use. Protect it from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
