2. Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury.

2.1 General Safety

  • Ensure the appliance is properly grounded.
  • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
  • This appliance is intended for household use only.
  • Children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge can use this appliance if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

2.2 Electrical Safety

  • Before cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.
  • Do not pull the power cord to disconnect the appliance. Always grasp the plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet.
  • Do not use extension cords or ungrounded (two-prong) adapters.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials, including foam and adhesive tape. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children. Inspect the appliance for any damage during transit. Report any damage immediately to your retailer.

3.2 Positioning

  • Place the refrigerator on a firm, level floor.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance. Maintain a minimum distance of 10 cm from the back wall and 5 cm from the sides.
  • Avoid placing the appliance in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as stoves, radiators, or ovens, as this will increase energy consumption.
  • The appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperatures between 16°C and 38°C.

3.3 Leveling

Adjust the adjustable feet at the front of the refrigerator to ensure it is level. A level appliance will operate more efficiently and quietly, and the doors will close properly.

3.4 Door Reversal

The doors of the Candy Fresco CCE3T618FS are reversible, allowing them to open from either the left or the right side to suit your kitchen layout. This procedure should be performed by a qualified technician or service agent. Refer to the detailed instructions provided in the full technical manual for this process.

3.5 Initial Power-On

After positioning and leveling, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging the appliance into the power outlet. This allows the refrigerant fluid to settle. Once plugged in, allow the refrigerator to run for several hours (e.g., 4-6 hours) before placing food inside, to ensure it reaches the optimal operating temperature.

4. Operation

4.1 Temperature Control

The refrigerator features internal controls for temperature adjustment. The recommended temperature for the refrigerator compartment is typically between 2°C and 4°C, and for the freezer compartment, it is -18°C or lower. Adjust the thermostat dial or digital control (if applicable) to set the desired temperature. Higher settings generally mean colder temperatures.

4.2 Flexible Storage System

Your Candy Fresco refrigerator offers a highly flexible interior with Safety Glass shelves and door balconies that can be adjusted to create over 100 different storage combinations. This allows you to customize the space to accommodate items of various sizes and shapes.

4.3 Total No Frost Technology

The Total No Frost system prevents the formation of ice and frost in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments, eliminating the need for manual defrosting. This technology also ensures efficient air circulation, maintaining optimal freshness and inhibiting bacterial growth by up to 94%.

4.4 Super Freezing and Super Cooling Functions

These functions are designed to rapidly lower the temperature in the freezer (Super Freezing) or refrigerator (Super Cooling) compartments. Use Super Freezing when adding a large quantity of fresh food to the freezer to quickly freeze it and preserve its quality. Use Super Cooling to rapidly chill newly added items in the refrigerator. These functions typically deactivate automatically after a set period or when the target temperature is reached.

5. Care and Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  • Clean the interior and exterior surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and a mild detergent solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • The Safety Glass shelves and door balconies can be removed for easier cleaning. Wash them with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly before replacing.
  • Clean the condenser coils at the back of the appliance periodically (at least once a year) using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and dirt. This improves energy efficiency.
  • Wipe the door seals regularly to ensure they remain clean and flexible, maintaining a good seal.

5.2 Power Outage

In case of a power outage, keep the refrigerator doors closed to maintain the internal temperature for as long as possible. Food can remain safely stored for several hours depending on the ambient temperature and how full the appliance is.

5.3 Vacation

For short vacations (a few days), leave the refrigerator running normally. For long vacations, empty the refrigerator, unplug it, clean it thoroughly, and leave the doors slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
