Key Components:
- Pressure Washer Unit: Main body housing the motor and pump.
- High-Pressure Hose: Connects the unit to the spray gun.
- Spray Gun: Handheld device for directing the high-pressure water.
- Wand: Extension for the spray gun.
- Quick-Connect Nozzles: Five interchangeable nozzles (0º, 15º, 25º, 40º, and soap).
- Detergent Tank: Onboard tank for applying cleaning solutions.
- Garden Hose Adapter: For connecting to a standard garden hose.
- Power Cord: For electrical connection.
Setup
- Assembly: Follow the assembly instructions provided in the packaging to attach the handle, wheels, and accessory holders. Ensure all components are securely fastened.
- Water Supply Connection:
- Connect a standard garden hose (minimum 5/8 inch diameter) to the water inlet on the pressure washer. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks.
- Connect the other end of the garden hose to a cold water faucet.
- Turn on the water faucet completely.
- High-Pressure Hose Connection: Connect the high-pressure hose to the outlet on the pressure washer and to the spray gun. Tighten connections firmly.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V AC electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).
- Priming the Pump: Before starting the motor, squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to release air from the system. Hold the trigger until a steady stream of water flows from the nozzle. This primes the pump and prevents damage.
Operating Instructions
1. Starting the Pressure Washer
- Ensure the water supply is fully open and the pump is primed.
- Turn the ON/OFF switch on the pressure washer to the "ON" position. The motor will start briefly and then shut off. This is normal and indicates the Total Stop System (TSS) is functioning.
- Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to begin spraying. The motor will run continuously while the trigger is depressed.
2. Using Spray Nozzles
The SPX3550 includes five quick-connect nozzles, each designed for specific tasks:
- 0º (Red) Nozzle: For concentrated, high-pressure stream. Use with extreme caution for spot cleaning or stubborn stains.
- 15º (Yellow) Nozzle: For intense cleaning of hard surfaces with a narrow spray pattern.
- 25º (Green) Nozzle: For general cleaning of most surfaces with a wider spray pattern.
- 40º (White) Nozzle: For gentle cleaning of delicate surfaces or wide area rinsing.
- Soap (Black) Nozzle: For applying detergent at low pressure.
To change nozzles, pull back the collar on the quick-connect fitting, insert the desired nozzle, and release the collar to lock it in place. Always turn off the pressure washer and release residual pressure by squeezing the trigger before changing nozzles.

3. Using the Detergent Tank
- Fill the onboard 40.6 fl oz detergent tank with a pressure washer-safe cleaning solution.
- Attach the black (soap) quick-connect nozzle to the spray gun.
- Turn the detergent dial to adjust the detergent flow rate.
- Spray the cleaning solution onto the desired surface. Allow it to soak for a few minutes, but do not let it dry.
- Switch to a high-pressure nozzle (e.g., 25º or 15º) and rinse the surface thoroughly.

4. Shutting Down
- Turn the pressure washer switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn off the water supply.
- Squeeze the spray gun trigger to release any remaining pressure in the system.
- Disconnect the garden hose and high-pressure hose.
- Unplug the power cord.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning and Storage
- After each use, flush the detergent tank with clean water to prevent clogging.
- Wipe down the exterior of the pressure washer with a damp cloth.
- Store the pressure washer in a dry, frost-free area.
- Coil the high-pressure hose and power cord neatly.
2. Winterization
If storing the pressure washer in an area where temperatures may drop below freezing, it is crucial to winterize the unit to prevent damage:
- Disconnect all water connections.
- Pour 1/2 gallon of RV antifreeze into the water inlet.
- Plug in the unit and turn it ON for a few seconds until antifreeze exits the high-pressure hose.
- Turn the unit OFF and disconnect the power.
3. Nozzle Care
Regularly inspect nozzles for blockages. Use the included nozzle cleaning tool to clear any debris. A clogged nozzle can cause pressure fluctuations or damage to the pump.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Motor does not start | Power cord not plugged in; GFCI tripped; ON/OFF switch in OFF position. | Check power connection; Reset GFCI; Turn switch to ON. |
