Filter Maintenance

The DU5080 features a HEPA filter system. Regular cleaning or replacement of filters is crucial for maintaining suction and air quality.

  • Pre-Motor Filter: Locate and remove the pre-motor filter (usually foam or felt). Tap it clean over a trash can or rinse with water if washable (check manual for specific instructions). Allow to air dry completely before reinserting.
  • HEPA Post-Motor Filter: This filter is typically not washable and should be replaced periodically (e.g., every 6-12 months) depending on usage. Refer to the full user guide for replacement part numbers.

Brush Roll Cleaning

Periodically check the brush roll for tangled hair, strings, or debris. Use scissors to carefully cut away any obstructions. Ensure the vacuum is unplugged before performing this maintenance.
