3. Setup and Initial Use
3.1 Battery Installation and Charging
- Install Battery: Align the battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio. Gently push down until it clicks into place.
- Attach Antenna: Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight.
- Initial Charge: Place the radio into the charging dock. Connect the power adapter to the charging dock and plug it into a power outlet. The charging indicator light on the dock will illuminate (typically red) during charging and change color (typically green) when fully charged.
- First Use: For optimal battery life, fully charge the battery before the first use.

3.2 Powering On/Off
- Power On: Rotate the Switch/Vol knob clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers on.
- Power Off: Rotate the Switch/Vol knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers off.
3.3 Network Connection (SIM Card / Wi-Fi)
The T529A operates on 4G LTE networks and supports Wi-Fi connectivity. A SIM card is required for cellular network operation.
- SIM Card Installation: (Refer to specific instructions for SIM card slot access, usually under the battery or a dedicated slot). Insert a valid 4G LTE SIM card into the designated slot.
- Wi-Fi Connection: Navigate to the radio's settings menu (if applicable, via screen or companion app) to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Adjusting Volume
Rotate the Switch/Vol knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
4.2 Selecting Channels/Groups
Rotate the Group Selector knob to switch between available channels or talk groups. The radio will typically announce the selected group or display it on a screen if available.
4.3 Push-to-Talk (PTT) Operation
- To Transmit: Press and hold the PTT button (located on the side of the radio). Speak clearly into the microphone.
- To Receive: Release the PTT button to listen for incoming transmissions.
- Important: Wait for the channel to be clear before transmitting. Do not interrupt ongoing conversations.
4.4 Bluetooth Connectivity
The T529A supports Bluetooth for connecting compatible accessories like headsets.
- Enable Bluetooth: Access the radio's settings menu to turn on Bluetooth.

5. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Avoid overcharging or completely draining the battery. Store the radio and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
