1. Introduction

5. Setup

5.1 Attaching the Lens

1. Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens.
2. Align the white index mark on the lens with the white index mark on the camera body.
3. Insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it clockwise until it clicks into place.

5.2 Inserting the Battery and Memory Card

1. Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.
2. Insert the NP-FW50 battery with the correct orientation until it locks.
3. Insert an SD card into the memory card slot until it clicks. Ensure the card is facing the correct direction.
4. Close the battery/memory card cover.

5.3 Charging the Battery

1. Connect the camera to the AC adaptor using the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable.
2. Plug the AC adaptor into a wall outlet.
3. The charging indicator will light up during charging and turn off when complete.

5.4 Initial Settings

Upon first power-on, the camera will prompt you to set the language, date, time, and region. Follow the on-screen instructions using the control wheel and center button.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

Slide the On/off (Power) Switch to turn the camera on or off.

6.2 Basic Still Image Capture

1. Set the Still/Movie/S&Q Button to the still image mode.
2. Frame your shot using the vari-angle LCD screen.
3. Press the Shutter Button halfway to focus, then press fully to capture the image.

6.3 4K Movie Recording

The ZV-E10L supports 4K video recording with oversampling for enhanced detail.

1. Set the Still/Movie/S&Q Button to the movie mode.
2. Press the dedicated Movie Recording Button to start and stop recording.
3. The vari-angle LCD screen can be flipped out for easy self-recording and framing.

6.4 Advanced Autofocus Features

The camera features advanced autofocus capabilities, including Real-time Eye AF and Continuous Eye Tracking, to maintain sharp focus on subjects.

6.5 Background Defocus (Bokeh)

Achieve a blurred background effect with ease using the dedicated Bokeh Switch Button.

1. Press the C1 / Custom Button (often assigned as the Bokeh Switch) to toggle background defocus on or off.
2. The camera will automatically adjust settings to create a pleasing background blur.

6.6 Product Showcase Setting

This mode allows for quick and smooth focus transitions between a presenter's face and a product being shown to the camera.

1. Activate the Product Showcase Setting via the menu or a custom button (e.g., the (Delete) Button / (Product Showcase Set) Button).
2. When a product is brought into the frame, the camera will automatically shift focus to the product, then back to the presenter's face when the product is removed.

6.7 USB Streaming

The ZV-E10L can be used as a high-quality webcam for live streaming or video conferencing by connecting it to a computer via USB.

1. Connect the camera to your computer using the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable.
2. On the camera, select the "Live Stream" or "USB Streaming" option from the menu.
3. Your computer should recognize the camera as a webcam.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Camera Body

Wipe the camera body gently with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and then wipe dry.

7.2 Cleaning the Lens and Image Sensor

Use a blower brush to remove dust from the lens surface and image sensor. For more persistent smudges on the lens, use a lens cleaning solution and a soft lens cloth. Never touch the image sensor directly.

7.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery and store the camera in a cool, dry place away from dust and moisture. Use desiccant packets if storing in humid environments.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Camera Does Not Turn On

• Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
• Try using a different, fully charged battery if available.

8.2 Images Are Blurry

• Check if the lens is clean and free from smudges.
• Ensure the camera is properly focused on the subject.
• Verify that the shutter speed is appropriate for the lighting conditions to avoid camera shake.

8.3 Battery Drains Quickly

• Reduce screen brightness.
• Turn off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth when not in use.
• Consider purchasing additional NP-FW50 batteries for extended use.

8.4 No Sound in Recorded Videos

• Check camera audio settings to ensure recording is enabled.
• Ensure the internal microphone is not obstructed.
• If using an external microphone, verify it is properly connected and functioning.
