This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new security camera. This camera offers 2K resolution, 360-degree pan-tilt coverage, color night vision, person detection, and two-way talk capabilities, all without any monthly subscription fees.

2. Safety Information
- Read all instructions carefully before installation and use.
- Use only the power adapter supplied with the camera. Using an unauthorized power supply may damage the camera and void the warranty.
- Ensure the camera is installed in a stable location to prevent it from falling.
- Avoid placing the camera near heat sources, direct sunlight, or in extremely humid environments.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the camera. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

4. Setup
4.1 Pre-installation Checklist
- A stable Wi-Fi network with good signal strength at the camera's intended location.
- A smartphone or tablet with the Lorex Home app installed (available on App Store and Google Play).
- A power outlet within reach of the camera's power adapter.
- Drill and screwdriver for mounting (if wall/ceiling mounting).
4.2 Physical Installation
The camera can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Choose a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is within range of your Wi-Fi network and a power source.
- Mark Drilling Holes: Use the mounting template (if provided) or the camera base to mark the positions for drilling holes on the wall or ceiling.
- Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked positions. Insert wall anchors if mounting on drywall or masonry.
- Secure Camera: Align the camera base with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided screws.

4.3 Powering On
Connect the power adapter to the camera's power input and then plug it into a power outlet. The camera will power on and begin its startup sequence.
4.4 Network Connection
The Lorex 2K Pan-Tilt camera supports both Wi-Fi and optional Ethernet connectivity.
- Wi-Fi Connection: This is the primary method. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and the camera is within range.
- Ethernet Connection (Optional): For a wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable (not included) from the camera to your router or a Lorex NVR (Network Video Recorder) for direct integration.

4.5 Lorex Home App Setup
The Lorex Home app is essential for controlling and managing your camera.
- Download App: Search for "Lorex Home" in your smartphone's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android) and install it.
- Create Account: Open the app and follow the on-screen prompts to create a new Lorex account or log in if you already have one.
- Add Device: Tap the '+' icon in the app to add a new device. Follow the app's instructions to scan the QR code on your camera or manually enter its device ID.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: The app will guide you through connecting the camera to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you intend for the camera.
- Complete Setup: Once connected, you can name your camera and customize initial settings.

5. Operation
5.1 Live View
Access the Lorex Home app and select your camera from the device list to view the live feed. You can switch between different cameras if you have multiple devices.
5.2 Pan-Tilt Control
The camera offers 360-degree horizontal and vertical rotation, allowing you to adjust the viewing angle remotely through the Lorex Home app. Use the directional controls within the live view interface to pan (move horizontally) and tilt (move vertically) the camera lens.

5.3 2-Way Talk
Utilize the built-in microphone and speaker to communicate with individuals near the camera. In the live view, tap the microphone icon to speak and the speaker icon to hear audio from the camera's location.

5.4 Night Vision
The camera features advanced night vision capabilities:
- Color Night Vision: In environments with ambient light (e.g., streetlights, porch lights), the camera can provide full-color video recordings at night.
- IR Night Vision: In complete darkness, the camera automatically switches to infrared (IR) night vision, providing clear black and white video.

5.5 Motion Detection & Alerts
The camera is equipped with motion detection, including advanced person detection, to minimize false alarms. When motion is detected, you will receive instant notifications on your smartphone via the Lorex Home app.
- Warning Light & Siren: The camera features motion-activated dual LED lights and a remotely activated siren. These can be programmed to deter unwanted visitors or alert you to activity.

5.6 Recording & Storage
Your Lorex camera comes with a pre-installed 32GB MicroSD card for local storage, ensuring your video recordings remain private and secure without any subscription fees.
- Accessing Footage: You can view recorded footage directly through the Lorex Home app. The app allows you to browse by event or timeline.
- No Subscription Fees: All core features, including recording to the MicroSD card, are available out-of-the-box without any recurring costs.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear image quality. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Firmware Updates: Keep your camera's firmware updated through the Lorex Home app. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements.
- Network Check: Regularly check your Wi-Fi signal strength at the camera's location to ensure stable connectivity and optimal performance.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Lorex camera, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Camera Offline:
- Check if the camera is properly powered on.
- Verify your Wi-Fi router is working and other devices can connect.
- Restart the camera by unplugging and re-plugging its power adapter.
- Ensure the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Consider using a Wi-Fi extender if necessary.
- Poor Image Quality:
- Clean the camera lens.
- Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the lens.
- Check your internet connection speed. A slow connection can affect live view quality.
- Motion Detection Not Working:
- Verify motion detection is enabled in the Lorex Home app settings for the camera.
- Adjust motion sensitivity settings.
- Ensure the camera's view is not obstructed.
- No Audio / 2-Way Talk Issues:
- Check microphone and speaker settings in the Lorex Home app.
- Ensure your phone's volume is up.
