1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Braun BC13BP Digital Weather Station Clock. This device features a clear LCD display showing time, indoor and outdoor temperature, indoor and outdoor humidity, and a weather forecast. It also includes a crescendo beep alarm with a snooze function.

The Braun BC13BP Digital Weather Station Clock is designed for clear and convenient display of essential environmental data. The main unit shows time, indoor temperature, indoor humidity, outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity, and a weather forecast icon. 4. Setup Instructions

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Main Unit: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the main unit. Insert 2 x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover.
  2. Outdoor Sensor Unit: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the outdoor sensor unit. Insert 2 x AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover.

It is recommended to insert batteries into the outdoor sensor first, then the main unit, to facilitate immediate pairing.

4.2. Initial Pairing of Sensor Unit

Upon battery installation, the main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. This process may take a few minutes. Once connected, the outdoor temperature and humidity will appear on the main unit's display.

  • If the outdoor readings do not appear, press the "Pair" button on the back of the main unit to initiate a manual search.
  • Ensure the outdoor sensor is within effective range (typically up to 30 meters/100 feet in open air, less with obstructions).

4.3. Placement of Outdoor Sensor

For accurate readings, place the outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location, protected from direct sunlight and precipitation. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electronic devices that could interfere with the wireless signal.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Setting the Time

  1. Press and hold the "Set" button (often labeled with a clock icon or "L") on the back of the main unit until the hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the hour.
  3. Press "Set" again to confirm the hour and move to minute setting.
  4. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the minutes.
  5. Press "Set" to confirm and exit time setting mode.
  6. To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, press the "12/24H" button.

5.2. Setting the Alarm

  1. Press the "Alarm" button (often labeled with a bell icon) once to display the current alarm time.
  2. Press and hold the "Alarm" button until the alarm hour digits flash.
  3. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the alarm hour.
  4. Press "Alarm" again to confirm the hour and move to minute setting.
  5. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the alarm minutes.
  6. Press "Alarm" to confirm and exit alarm setting mode.
  7. To activate or deactivate the alarm, slide the "alarm on/off" switch on the back of the unit. An alarm icon will appear on the display when activated.

The alarm features a crescendo beep, meaning the beep sound will become more frequent and louder if not turned off.

5.3. Snooze and Backlight Function

Tap the "Snooze/Light" bar on the top of the unit to activate the snooze function when the alarm sounds. This will silence the alarm for 5 minutes. Tapping the bar outside of alarm mode will activate the backlight for 10 seconds, improving legibility in low-light conditions.

The clock also features a continuous backlight function that illuminates the display in low-light environments. This can be toggled using the "backlight on/off" switch on the back of the unit. Be aware that continuous backlight use will consume batteries more quickly.

5.4. Temperature Unit Selection

Press the "°C/°F" button on the back of the main unit to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit for both indoor and outdoor temperature displays.

5.5. Weather Forecast Display

The main unit displays a weather forecast icon (e.g., sunny, cloudy, partly cloudy) based on changes in atmospheric pressure. This is an indicative forecast and should not be considered a precise weather prediction.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both units when the display becomes dim or unresponsive. Always replace all batteries at the same time.
  • Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.
