3. Setup & Installation

3.1 Pre-Installation: Measure Your Opening

Before installation, accurately measure the width of your opening (doorway, hallway, or stairs) to determine if the gate fits and if extension pieces are needed. The gate fits openings from 29.5 inches to 40.5 inches.

3.2 Important Note: Do Not Cut the Belt

DO NOT cut off the belt (zip tie) before installation is completed. There will be a gap at the handle before installation, which is NOT a defect. This gap will disappear once the gate is correctly installed and tightened.

3.3 Installation Methods: Pressure Mounted or Hardware Mounted

The COMOMY gate offers two installation methods:

  • Pressure Mounted: Ideal for doorways and hallways. No tools or drilling required.
  • Hardware Mounted: Recommended for stairway installation to ensure maximum safety. This method requires drilling.

3.4 Step-by-Step Pressure Mounted Installation

  1. Insert the 4 pressure bolts into the corners of the gate/extension.
  2. Position the gate in the desired opening.
  3. Rotate the bolts clockwise to tighten them against the walls until the gate is secure and the gap at the handle is closed. Use the provided wrench for extra tightening.
  4. Once the gate is securely installed, cut the retaining belt.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Opening the Main Gate

To open the main gate, press the button on the handle and lift to disengage the double-locking system. The gate can swing in both directions.

4.2 Auto-Close and Stay-Open Features
