Setup

Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials, including tape and protective films. Inspect the refrigerator for any shipping damage. It is recommended to keep the original packaging for potential future transport.

Placement

Place the refrigerator on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources (e.g., stove, heater). Ensure there is sufficient air circulation around the unit. A minimum of 5 inches (12.7 cm) clearance is recommended at the back and sides for optimal performance and energy efficiency. The smooth back design allows for installation against a wall.

Leveling

The refrigerator is equipped with two front-mount adjustable leveling legs and two castors at the back for easy movement. Adjust the front leveling legs to ensure the appliance is stable and level. This helps with door alignment and proper operation.

Door Reversal

The door hinges are reversible, allowing for flexible opening to best suit your space. Refer to the detailed diagram and instructions in the full product manual for the door reversal procedure.

Initial Power-On

After placement and leveling, wait at least 4 hours before plugging the refrigerator into a power source. This allows the refrigerant to settle. Once plugged in, allow the unit to cool for several hours before loading with food.

Operating Instructions

Temperature Control

The refrigerator features easy-to-use mechanical controls for temperature adjustment. The temperature control knob typically has settings from 1 (warmest) to 7 (coldest). A setting of 3-5 is generally recommended for typical residential use. Adjust as needed based on ambient temperature and food load.

Storage Options

  • Adjustable Glass Shelves: Three adjustable glass shelves provide versatile storage space. These can be repositioned or removed to accommodate items of various sizes.
  • Transparent Crisper Bin: Located at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment, the crisper bin with a glass cover helps keep fruits and vegetables fresh.
  • Door Bins: Full-width transparent door bins offer convenient storage for bottles, jars, and other frequently accessed items.

Freezer Compartment

The dedicated freezer compartment provides ample space for frozen goods. It includes an adjustable/removable wire freezer shelf and interior lighting. The temperature of the freezer is controlled by the main thermostat. For optimal freezing, ensure the temperature control is set appropriately.

Defrosting

This appliance features a convenient cycle defrost system for the refrigerator section and manual defrost for the freezer compartment.

  • Refrigerator: The refrigerator compartment defrosts automatically. Water from the melted frost drains into a tray located above the compressor, where it evaporates.
  • Freezer: The freezer compartment requires manual defrosting when frost accumulation reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. To defrost, remove all food items, unplug the unit, and leave the freezer door open. Place towels at the bottom to absorb melted ice. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Regular cleaning helps maintain the efficiency and appearance of your refrigerator.

  • Interior: Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Wash interior surfaces with a solution of mild soap and warm water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Remove shelves and bins for separate cleaning.
  • Exterior: Clean the exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent. For stainless steel surfaces, use a specialized stainless steel cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Door Gaskets: Clean door gaskets regularly to ensure a proper seal.

Power Outage

In case of a power outage, keep the refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to maintain internal temperatures. Food can remain frozen for several hours if the doors are not opened frequently.

Vacation and Storage

For long vacations or storage, unplug the refrigerator, empty all contents, defrost the freezer, clean the interior, and leave the doors slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
