Setup
Fueling Your Zippo Lighter
Your Zippo lighter is shipped without fuel for safety reasons. It must be filled with Zippo premium lighter fluid before first use. Do not use other types of fuel, such as charcoal lighter fluid or butane, as this can damage the lighter and pose a safety risk.
- Open the lighter lid.
- Pull the insert out of the case.
- Lift the felt pad on the bottom of the insert to expose the packing material.
- Slowly saturate the packing material with Zippo lighter fluid until the fluid reaches the top of the packing. Do not overfill.
- Insert the lighter unit back into the case.
- Wipe any excess fluid from the lighter and your hands before igniting.
Allow a few seconds for the fluid to absorb into the wick before attempting to light.

Operating Instructions
Igniting the Lighter
- Open the lighter lid to a 90-degree angle. This action exposes the flint wheel and allows the lighter to be ignited.
- With your thumb, firmly strike the flint wheel downwards against the flint. This friction creates a spark that ignites the fuel-soaked wick.
- Once lit, hold the lighter steady to maintain the flame.
- To extinguish the flame, simply close the lid. The lid will cut off the oxygen supply, putting out the flame.
The Zippo lighter's windproof design allows it to remain lit in windy conditions. However, extreme wind may still affect the flame.

Maintenance
Refilling Fuel
Refill your Zippo lighter with Zippo premium lighter fluid as described in the "Fueling Your Zippo Lighter" section when the flame becomes weak or fails to ignite.
Replacing the Flint
If the lighter produces sparks but no flame, or if the flint wheel spins freely without resistance, the flint may need replacement.
- Remove the lighter insert from the case.
- Unscrew the flint spring at the bottom of the insert using a small screwdriver or the edge of the outer case.
- Remove the old flint and spring.
- Insert a new Zippo flint into the flint tube.
- Replace the flint spring and screw it tightly.
Replacing the Wick
If the wick is blackened or frayed, it may need to be trimmed or replaced to ensure optimal performance.
- Remove the lighter insert from the case.
- Remove the flint, flint spring, and felt pad.
- Carefully pull the wick up with pliers until a clean section is exposed. Trim the burnt portion with scissors.
- If the wick is too short to pull up, it needs to be replaced. Remove all packing material and the old wick.
- Thread a new Zippo wick through the chimney hole from the inside out.
- Weave the wick through the packing material in a serpentine pattern to ensure maximum fuel absorption.
- Replace the packing material, felt pad, flint, and flint spring.
Troubleshooting
- No Flame: Ensure the lighter is properly fueled. Check if the flint needs replacement. Ensure the wick is properly positioned and not excessively burnt.
- Weak Flame: The lighter may need to be refueled. The wick might be too short or dirty and requires trimming or replacement.
- Difficulty Sparking: The flint may be worn down or missing. Replace the flint as per the maintenance instructions. Ensure the flint wheel is clean and free of debris.
