1. Introduction

The TASER X1 Professional Self-Defense Device is designed to provide effective personal protection using Neuromuscular Incapacitation (NMI) technology. 4. Device Overview

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Installing the Performance Power Magazine (PPM)

  1. Ensure the safety switch is in the SAFE position.
  2. Locate the PPM slot at the base of the handle.
  3. Insert the PPM firmly until it clicks into place.

5.2 Loading a Cartridge

  1. Ensure the safety switch is in the SAFE position.
  2. Align the cartridge with the front of the device.
  3. Push the cartridge firmly into the bay until it locks securely.

6. Operation

6.1 Engaging the Safety Switch

To prepare the device for use, move the safety switch from the SAFE position to the ARM position. This will activate the targeting laser and LED flashlight, indicating the device is ready to fire.

6.2 Aiming and Deployment

  1. With the device armed, aim the targeting laser at the intended target. The optimal range for probe deployment is up to 15 feet.
  2. Press the trigger to deploy the probes. The device will deliver an electrical pulse to incapacitate the target.
  3. After deployment, immediately move to safety and contact law enforcement.

6.3 Contact Stun (Backup Mode)

In close-quarters situations where cartridge deployment is not feasible, the X1 offers a direct contact-stun capability. With the safety switch in the ARM position, press the device directly against the target's body to deliver a localized electrical pulse.

7. Maintenance

7.1 General Care

7.2 Replacing Cartridges and Power Magazine

After deployment, or if a cartridge is expired/damaged, replace it with a new, unused TASER X1 cartridge. The Performance Power Magazine (PPM) is not rechargeable and must be replaced when depleted. Refer to the device's indicator lights for PPM status.
