4. Setup
- Placement: Choose a suitable location on your vehicle's dashboard that does not obstruct your view of the road. Use the provided anti-slip mat to secure the detector in place. Ensure the detector has a clear line of sight for optimal signal reception.
- Power Connection: Insert the small end of the car charger cable into the power input port on the V3 Car Radar Detector. Plug the larger end of the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
- Power On: Press the power button on the car charger to turn on the device. The detector will emit a startup sound and the LED display will illuminate.
5. Operating Instructions
Once powered on, the V3 Car Radar Detector will automatically begin scanning for radar and laser signals. When a signal is detected, the device will provide a voice alert and display the detected band on its LED screen.
5.1. Detection Modes
The device offers two detection modes: City Mode and Highway Mode.
- Highway Mode: Provides maximum detection sensitivity and range (200-800 meters) for open road driving. This mode is recommended for highway use where false alerts are less common.
- City Mode: Reduces sensitivity to minimize false alerts caused by automatic door openers and other urban interference. The detection range in City Mode is relatively lower than in Highway Mode.
To switch between City Mode and Highway Mode, press the 'M' button on the device. The current mode will be indicated by a voice prompt.
5.2. Language Setting
The V3 Car Radar Detector supports voice prompts in both English and Russian.
- To change the language, press and hold the 'M' button for approximately 3 seconds. The device will announce the language change.
5.3. Volume Adjustment
Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the device to adjust the volume of the voice alerts.
6. Detection Bands
The V3 Car Radar Detector is designed to detect the following radar and laser bands:
- X-band: 10.525GHz +/- 25MHz
- K-band: 24.150GHz +/- 100MHz
- KA-band: 33.890GHz +/- 750MHz
- Ku-band: 3.400GHz +/- 75MHz (Note: Ku-band is primarily used in Europe. It may not be detectable for users in Russia.)
- VG-2 band: 11.150GHz +/- 175MHz
Important Note: This model supports flow motion detection only and cannot detect traffic cameras.
The device does not feature an automatic mute system and may produce false alerts in certain environments.
7. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or excessive moisture.
- Ensure the power cable is not pinched or damaged.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power:
- Ensure the car charger is securely plugged into both the detector and the vehicle's 12V power outlet.
- Check if the vehicle's 12V power outlet is functioning correctly (e.g., by testing with another device).
- Verify that the power button on the car charger is pressed to the 'ON' position.
- No Detection:
- Ensure the detector has a clear line of sight and is not obstructed by objects on the dashboard.
- Confirm that you are in an area where radar/laser signals are present.
- If in City Mode, switch to Highway Mode to increase sensitivity.
- Excessive False Alerts:
- Switch to City Mode to reduce sensitivity in urban areas.
- Reposition the detector to avoid interference from other electronic devices in the vehicle.
