HOCANFLO AugFLOWC-500-1 Macerating Toilet System Instruction Manual

Brand: HOCANFLO | Model: AugFLOWC-500-1 (FLO-LS500)

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your HOCANFLO AugFLOWC-500-1 Macerating Toilet System. It efficiently grinds and pumps waste through small-diameter pipes, offering a convenient and space-saving solution.

The system includes an elongated bowl, water tank, and a powerful macerator pump, capable of pumping effluent up to 22.9 feet vertically and 229 feet horizontally. It features an upgraded impeller for thorough maceration and a unique activated carbon deodorizing function to maintain an odor-free environment.

3. Safety Information

  • Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or installation.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and watertight to prevent leaks.
  • Do not dispose of foreign objects (e.g., sanitary products, wet wipes, excessive paper) into the toilet as this can damage the macerator pump.
  • Consult a qualified plumber if you are unsure about any installation steps.

4. Installation Guide

It is highly recommended to watch the installation videos provided before beginning the installation process.

4.1. Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Verify all components listed in Section 2 are present and undamaged.
  • Ensure the installation area has adequate space for the toilet and pump.
  • Confirm access to a power outlet for the macerator pump.
  • Gather necessary tools (screwdriver, scissors, measuring tape, etc.).

4.2. Macerator Pump Setup

The macerator pump has multiple inlets and one outlet. The front hole is for the toilet connection. The bottom inlets are for connecting a shower room and a sink. The top holes are for the outlet pipe and activated carbon.

4.3. Connecting Inlet Pipes (Shower/Sink)

  1. Remove the cover from the desired bottom inlet port on the macerator pump.
  2. Insert the check valve into the inlet to prevent sewage backflow.
  3. Fix the hose to the inlet. Cut off any excess hose with scissors.
  4. Install a 40mm diameter PVC inlet pipe. Ensure the inlet pipe maintains a 3% inclination to prevent sewage from remaining in the pipe.
  5. Repeat for any additional sink or shower connections. If an inlet is not used, ensure it is securely blocked with a cover.

4.4. Connecting the Toilet

  1. Connect the rubber hose to the toilet's drain outlet.
  2. Secure the rubber hose with a clamp.
  3. Align the toilet's drain outlet with the front inlet of the macerator pump and push it firmly to ensure a secure connection.
Video 4.2: Step-by-step instructions on how to install the HOCANFLO Macerating Toilet, focusing on connecting the toilet to the macerator pump.

4.5. Connecting the Outlet Pipe

  1. Install the elbow and check valve combination at the top outlet position of the macerator pump. Secure it firmly with a clamp.
  2. For the outlet pipe, you can use 28mm, 32mm, or 40mm PVC pipes. A 32mm PVC hard pipe is recommended for installation.
  3. If discharging horizontally before lifting, the horizontal section must be less than 30cm to avoid affecting the vertical lift height.
Video 4.3: Demonstration of the macerating pump check valve, highlighting its function in preventing backflow.

4.6. Toilet Seat and Tank Installation

  1. Install the toilet seat hinges onto the toilet bowl using the provided screws and screwdriver.
  2. Place the water tank onto the toilet bowl, aligning the holes.
  3. Secure the water tank to the bowl using the provided bolts and washers, tightening them firmly.
  4. Install the flush button mechanism into the water tank.

4.7. Extension Pipe Usage

If you need to install the macerating pump behind a wall or further from the toilet, an extension pipe is included. This allows for flexible placement of the pump, keeping it out of sight.

5. Operation

The HOCANFLO Macerating Toilet System operates automatically. When the water level in the macerator pump rises due to waste entering from the toilet, sink, or shower, the pump activates. The powerful impeller grinds the waste into a fine slurry, which is then pumped through the outlet pipe to the main sewer line.

  • Flushing: Use the flush button on the toilet tank as you would with a standard toilet.
  • Manual Switch: The pump includes a manual switch for testing or emergency operation.
  • Activated Carbon: Ensure the activated carbon is placed in its designated compartment to neutralize odors.

6. Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the toilet bowl and exterior surfaces with standard bathroom cleaners. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
  • Macerator Pump: Periodically check the macerator pump for any unusual noises or reduced performance. Refer to the troubleshooting section if issues arise.
  • Activated Carbon Replacement: Replace the activated carbon periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months, depending on usage) to maintain effective odor control.
  • Check Valve: Ensure the check valve in the inlet pipes is free from debris to prevent backflow.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your HOCANFLO Macerating Toilet System, consider the following common problems and solutions:

  • Pump Not Activating: Check the power supply. Ensure the water level switch is not obstructed.
  • Unusual Noises: This could indicate an obstruction in the impeller. Disconnect power and inspect the pump for foreign objects.
  • Leaks: Check all pipe connections for tightness. Ensure rubber seals are correctly seated.
  • Odor Issues: Replace the activated carbon in the pump. Ensure all pipe connections are sealed.

For persistent issues, please contact customer support as detailed in the Warranty and Support section.
