The iMaihom Floodlight Camera Outdoor is a 2K QHD smart home security camera designed for outdoor surveillance. 4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your iMaihom Floodlight Camera and connect it to the Smart Life app.

4.1 Initial Power On

  1. Turn on the power switch for the floodlight camera.
  2. Wait for 20-60 seconds for the camera to initialize. The camera will prompt "Camera Starts". If you do not hear the prompt after a long time, you may need to restart the camera.
  3. Wait for another 10-15 seconds. The camera will rotate left, right, up, and down, then prompt "Please Configure Network".
  4. The blue indicator light on the camera will quickly flash, indicating it is ready for connection.

4.2 App Installation and Connection

Download and install the "Smart Life" app on your smartphone. Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled.

Method 1: Auto-Discovery (Recommended)

  1. Open the Smart Life app and log in or register.
  2. Tap "Add Device" or the '+' icon. The app should automatically detect the camera.
  3. Select "Security Camera" from the detected devices.
  4. Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password. Ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network as the camera will use.
  5. Wait for approximately 40 seconds for the connection to complete. The camera will prompt "Connecting Network" and then "Camera Online" upon successful connection.

Method 2: QR Code Scan

  1. Open the Smart Life app and log in or register.
  2. Tap "Add Device" or the '+' icon.
  3. Manually select "Camera & Lock" then choose "Floodlight" or "Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)".
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to reset the device if necessary (long press reset button until beep).
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password.
  6. A QR code will appear on your phone screen. Align your phone's screen with the camera lens (15-20 cm away) for the camera to scan it. The camera will beep once scanned.
  7. Wait for the connection to complete. The camera will prompt "Connecting Network" and then "Camera Online" upon successful connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 360° Pan & Tilt Control

The camera offers a 340° horizontal and 120° vertical rotation. You can control the camera's view directly from the Smart Life app by swiping on the live view screen.

5.2 5500LM Brightness Adjustment

The five light heads provide 5500 lumens of brightness. You can customize the brightness level and set lighting schedules via the Smart Life app.

5.3 Two-Way Audio

Communicate with visitors or deter intruders using the built-in two-way audio feature. Access this function through the live view interface in the Smart Life app.

5.4 Voice Control Integration

The camera supports voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing for convenient hands-free operation.

6. Motion Detection & Tracking

The iMaihom Floodlight Camera is equipped with an advanced 180° PIR motion sensor. When motion is detected, it activates instantly and sends real-time alerts to your phone.

6.1 Enabling Motion Detection

To enable or adjust motion detection settings:

  1. From the live view screen in the Smart Life app, tap the settings icon (usually a gear or three dots) in the top right corner.
  2. Navigate to "Detection Alarm Settings".
  3. Toggle on "Motion Detection Alarm".

6.2 Sensitivity Adjustment & Human Body Filtering

Within the "Detection Alarm Settings", you can adjust the alarm sensitivity level (Low, Medium, High) and enable "Human Body Filtering" to reduce false alerts from non-human movements.

6.3 Motion Tracking

Enable "Motion Tracking" in the "Detection Alarm Settings" to allow the camera to automatically pan and tilt to follow detected moving objects, ensuring continuous surveillance.

7. Video Playback & Storage

The camera offers flexible recording and storage options.

7.1 Micro SD Card Storage

The camera supports up to a 128GB Micro SD card (not included) for local 24/7 recording. This allows you to review surveillance footage at any time without recurring fees.

7.2 Cloud Storage

Optional cloud storage is available, which may require a subscription fee. This provides an alternative for storing your video recordings securely off-site.

7.3 Enabling Local Recording

  1. Ensure a Micro SD card is inserted into the camera.
  2. In the Smart Life app, go to the camera's settings.
  3. Navigate to "Storage Settings" and then "Recording settings".
  4. Enable "Local Recording" and select your preferred recording mode (e.g., Non-Stop for continuous recording).

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Resetting the Device

You may need to reset the camera if you change your home Wi-Fi network or if you experience multiple failed connection attempts.

  1. Locate the reset button at the bottom of the camera unit. It may be under a cover.
  2. Long press the Reset Button.
  3. When you hear a beep, release your hand. The camera will prompt "Reset successful" and then "Please Configure Network".
  4. Proceed with the setup steps in Section 4.2 to reconnect the camera.

8.2 Removing the Device from the App

For security reasons, one camera can only be connected to one phone directly. If other phones need to view this camera, it needs to be done through sharing within the app, not by directly connecting multiple phones.

  1. In the Smart Life app, go to the "All Devices" list.
  2. Tap the three dots next to the "Security Camera" entry.
  3. Select "Remove Device" or "Delete Device".
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

9. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the camera lens and light heads with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear vision and optimal light output. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Connection Check: Periodically verify the camera's Wi-Fi connection status in the Smart Life app to ensure continuous operation.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Smart Life app for available firmware updates to ensure your camera has the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Physical Inspection: Inspect the mounting hardware and cables for any signs of wear or damage, especially after severe weather conditions.
