Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the two battery compartments on the back of the clock. One compartment is for the clock movement, and the other is for the moving gears.
  2. For the clock movement, insert one (1) AA carbon-zinc battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals are correctly aligned.
  3. For the moving gears, insert two (2) AA carbon-zinc batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Note: Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately. Do not use alkaline batteries for the gear mechanism as they may cause damage or malfunction over time.

2. Setting the Time

  1. After installing the battery for the clock movement, locate the small knob on the back of the clock movement mechanism.
  2. Gently turn this knob to adjust the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Do not move the hands directly.

3. Mounting the Clock

  1. Choose a suitable location on a sturdy wall.
  2. Install a wall hook or screw that can safely support the clock's weight (2 kg).
  3. Hang the clock using the designated hanging point on the back of the clock, ensuring it is stable and level.

Operating Instructions

Timekeeping

Once the AA battery is installed and the time is set, the quartz movement will accurately keep time. The clock operates silently without a ticking sound.

Moving Gears

Upon inserting the two AA carbon-zinc batteries into the gear compartment, the decorative silver gears will begin to rotate. These gears are designed to move continuously, creating a dynamic visual effect. A slight mechanical sound may be audible from the moving gears, which is normal for this feature.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the clock, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish and components.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the clock movement battery annually or when the timekeeping becomes inaccurate. Replace the gear batteries when the gears stop moving. Always use fresh AA carbon-zinc batteries.
  • Environment: Avoid placing the clock in direct sunlight or near heat sources, which can affect the movement's accuracy and material integrity. Keep away from areas with high humidity.
