4.2 Power and Network Connection

The camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified installation, requiring only one Ethernet cable for both power and data transmission.

  • PoE Connection: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the camera's RJ45 port and the other end to a PoE switch, PoE injector, or a compatible PoE NVR (e.g., Hikvision, LTS, EZVIZ). The camera will power on automatically.
  • Non-PoE Connection (Optional): If not using PoE, connect a 12V DC power adapter (not included) to the DC 12V power port and connect the RJ45 port to your network router or NVR using a standard Ethernet cable.

4.3 Initial Configuration

The camera is designed for plug-and-play compatibility with many NVRs. For initial setup and advanced configurations, you may use client software or a web browser.

  • NVR Compatibility: The camera is plug-and-play with Hikvision, LTS, and EZVIZ PoE NVRs. It also works with Dahua, Lorex, Uniview, TVT, and Raysharp NVRs after DHCP is enabled (default setting).
  • IP Search Tool: Use the provided IP Search tool (Windows software) to locate the camera on your network and access its web interface for detailed settings.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

  • No Power/No Image:
    - Ensure the PoE connection is active and functioning correctly, or that the 12V DC power adapter is properly connected and supplying power.
    - Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the camera and the network device (NVR/switch).
  • Cannot Access Camera via Network:
    - Confirm the camera is connected to the same network as your viewing device.
    - Use the IP Search tool to find the camera's IP address.
    - Ensure DHCP is enabled on your NVR or network if not using a static IP.
    - Check firewall settings on your network or computer that might be blocking access.
  • Poor Image Quality:
    - Clean the camera lens to remove any dust or smudges.
    - Ensure there are no obstructions in the camera's field of view.
    - Check network bandwidth; insufficient bandwidth can affect streaming quality.
    - Verify camera settings for resolution and frame rate are appropriate for your network and storage.
  • Night Vision Not Working:
    - Ensure the area is sufficiently dark for the IR LEDs to activate automatically.
    - Check if the IR LEDs are physically obstructed.
    - Verify night vision settings in the camera's web interface or app.

For persistent issues, please contact Inwerang technical support.
