2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.

  • Always ensure the power supply matches the voltage specified on the rating label.
  • Do not leave the vacuum cleaner unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
  • Do not use with a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Do not use without filters in place.

4. Setup

4.1 Assembly

  1. Filter Installation: For dry vacuuming, ensure the cartridge filter is securely installed over the filter cage. For wet vacuuming, remove the cartridge filter and install the foam filter.
  2. Hose Connection: Insert the flexible hose into the vacuum port on the front of the unit until it clicks into place.
  3. Accessory Attachment: Attach the desired extension wands and nozzle to the end of the hose.

4.2 Wall Mounting (Optional)

The Vacmaster VWM1518R can be conveniently wall-mounted to save space and provide easy access.

  1. Choose Location: Select a sturdy wall surface near a power outlet, ensuring sufficient clearance around the unit.
  2. Install Bracket: Use appropriate hardware (not included) to securely fasten the wall mount bracket to the wall. Ensure it is level and can support the weight of the vacuum cleaner.
  3. Mount Vacuum: Carefully lift the vacuum cleaner and slide it onto the wall mount bracket until it locks into place.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off and Remote Control

Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The Vacmaster VWM1518R features a remote control on the hose for convenient operation.

  • Press the ON/OFF button on the remote control to start or stop the vacuum cleaner.
  • The remote control allows you to operate the unit without needing to reach the main power switch on the vacuum body.

5.2 Dry Vacuuming

For dry vacuuming, ensure the cartridge filter is installed. Use appropriate nozzles for different surfaces.

  • Attach the desired nozzle (e.g., floor nozzle for large areas, crevice tool for tight spaces).
  • Turn on the vacuum cleaner using the remote control.
  • Move the nozzle over the dry debris to be collected.

5.3 Wet Vacuuming

For wet vacuuming, remove the cartridge filter and install the foam filter. Do not use the cartridge filter for wet pickup.

  • Attach the utility nozzle or floor nozzle.
  • Turn on the vacuum cleaner.
  • Slowly move the nozzle over the liquid spill. The vacuum will automatically shut off when the tank is full.
  • Empty the tank immediately after wet pickup.

5.4 Blower Function

The Vacmaster VWM1518R also functions as a powerful blower, ideal for clearing leaves or debris from outdoor areas.

  1. Connect Hose to Blower Port: Locate the blower port on the rear of the vacuum cleaner. Insert the flexible hose into this port.
  2. Attach Nozzle: Attach a suitable nozzle (e.g., utility nozzle) to the end of the hose.
  3. Activate Blower: Turn on the vacuum cleaner using the remote control. Air will now exit through the hose, functioning as a blower.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your vacuum cleaner.

6.1 Emptying the Tank

Always unplug the vacuum cleaner before emptying the tank.

  • Release the latches on the side of the tank and lift off the motor head.
  • Carefully empty the collected debris or liquid into a suitable receptacle.
  • Clean the inside of the tank with water and mild detergent if necessary, then dry thoroughly.
  • Replace the motor head and secure the latches.

6.2 Filter Cleaning and Replacement

Clean or replace filters regularly to maintain suction power.

  • Cartridge Filter (Dry Use): Tap off loose dust. For thorough cleaning, rinse under running water. Allow to air dry completely before re-installing. Replace if damaged or excessively dirty.
  • Foam Filter (Wet Use): Rinse with water and mild soap. Squeeze out excess water and allow to air dry completely before storage or re-use.
