4. Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your AsiaHorse Rocket-X fans:

  1. Prepare your PC case: Ensure your PC is powered off and unplugged. Open the side panel of your case.
  2. Mount the fans: Securely attach the fans to your desired locations (e.g., front, top, rear) using the provided mounting screws. Ensure proper airflow direction.
  3. Connect fans to the hub: Connect each fan's cable to an available port on the AsiaHorse control hub. The fans do not require a specific connection order.
  4. Connect hub to power: Connect the SATA power cable from your power supply unit (PSU) to the control hub.
  5. Connect hub to motherboard (optional ARGB sync): If you wish to synchronize the fan lighting with your motherboard's ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync), connect the 5V 3-pin ARGB cable from the hub to the corresponding 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard. Do not connect to a 12V 4-pin RGB header, as this will damage the LEDs.
  6. Connect reset switch (optional): If you want to control lighting effects via your PC's reset button, connect the reset switch cable from your case to the 'RESET SW' port on the hub.
  7. Cable management: Organize cables neatly to ensure proper airflow and a clean build.
  8. Close case and power on: Close your PC case, plug in the power, and turn on your computer.

5.2 Motherboard Synchronization (Aura Sync, Mystic Light, etc.)

If connected to a compatible 5V 3-pin ARGB motherboard header, you can control the fan lighting directly through your motherboard's RGB software. Refer to your motherboard's manual for specific instructions on using its ARGB control software.

  • Ensure the hub's ARGB cable is correctly connected to the motherboard's 5V 3-pin ARGB header.
  • Install the appropriate RGB control software for your motherboard (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync).
  • Use the software to customize colors, effects, and synchronize lighting with other compatible components.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your AsiaHorse Rocket-X fans, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Fans not spinning:
    • Check if the SATA power cable is securely connected from the PSU to the control hub.
    • Ensure all fan cables are properly connected to the control hub.
    • Verify that the PSU is providing power.
  • RGB lighting not working or incorrect:
    • Confirm that the 5V 3-pin ARGB cable from the hub is correctly connected to the motherboard's 5V 3-pin ARGB header (if using motherboard sync). Do not connect to a 12V 4-pin RGB header.
    • If using the remote control, ensure its battery is functional and it's pointed towards the hub.
    • Check if the motherboard's RGB software is installed and configured correctly.
    • Try cycling through different modes using the remote or motherboard software.
  • Excessive noise:
    • Ensure fans are securely mounted and not vibrating against the case.
    • Check for any cables or obstructions interfering with the fan blades.
    • Adjust fan speed using the remote control or motherboard software to a lower RPM.
