1. Introduction

4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your VSVABEFV R816US router for the first time.

4.1. SIM Card and Battery Installation

  1. Remove the back cover of the router.
  2. If present, remove the insulating sheet from the battery compartment.
  3. Insert your Mini SIM card into the designated SIM card slot. Ensure it is correctly oriented and makes good contact. (Note: Only Mini SIM cards are supported. Standard and Nano SIM cards are not compatible.)

  4. Insert the provided Lithium battery into its compartment.
  5. Replace the back cover securely.

4.2. Initial Power On and Connection

Press and hold the power button on the router until the screen lights up. The device will display a 'Welcome' message and then show network status indicators. The default Wi-Fi SSID and password will be displayed on the device screen (e.g., SSID: LTE-XXXX, KEY: 12345678).

4.3. Accessing the Web Management Interface

To configure advanced settings, access the router's web management interface:

  1. Connect your computer or mobile device to the router's Wi-Fi network using the default SSID and password shown on the router's screen.
  2. Open a web browser and enter the default IP address: 192.168.0.1
  3. When prompted, enter the default username: admin and default password: admin.

4.4. Configuring APN Settings (If Needed)

If your SIM card is not plug-and-play, you may need to manually configure the APN (Access Point Name).

  1. After logging into the web interface, navigate to the 'Internet' tab.
  2. Click on 'Internet Connection' or 'APN' settings.
  3. If the automatically read APN is incorrect, or if there's no internet connection, you may need to manually add a new APN profile. Select 'Manual' for Connection Mode.
  4. Click 'Add New' or similar option to enter your SIM card's specific APN details (APN Name, Username, Password, Authentication Type). This information is usually provided by your mobile carrier.
  5. Ensure the 'Auto APN' option is disabled if you are manually configuring.
  6. Save the settings.

4.5. Changing Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) and Password

For security, it is recommended to change the default Wi-Fi SSID and password.

  1. In the web management interface, navigate to the 'Wireless' tab.
  2. Click on 'Wireless Security Settings'.
  3. Modify the 'Network Name (SSID)' to your preferred name.
  4. Enter a strong, unique password in the 'Password' field.
  5. Click 'Save' to apply the changes. You will need to reconnect your devices using the new Wi-Fi credentials.

5. Operating Your Router

Once set up, your VSVABEFV R816US router is ready for use.

5.1. Connecting Devices

The router can share Wi-Fi with up to 10 users simultaneously within a 50-meter range. Simply search for the Wi-Fi network on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or smart TV, and enter the correct password to connect.
