Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your grinder.
- Always Unplug: Ensure the grinder is unplugged from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
- Clean Grinding Chamber: Use a small brush or a dry cloth to remove any remaining coffee grounds or spice residue from the grinding chamber and around the blades. Do not use water directly in the grinding chamber.
- Clean Lid: The clear lid can be washed with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching.
- Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Storage: Store the grinder in a dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- Grinder does not turn on:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working 120V AC outlet.
- Verify that the lid is correctly placed and locked into position. The safety interlock prevents operation if the lid is not secure.
- Inconsistent grind:
- Adjust grinding time. Shorter pulses result in a coarser grind, longer pulses for a finer grind.
- Ensure the grinding chamber is not overfilled, which can hinder proper blade movement.
- Excessive noise during operation:
- This is normal for blade grinders. Ensure the unit is on a stable surface to minimize vibration.
- Check for any foreign objects in the grinding chamber.
