Important Safety Information
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, observe the following:
- Installation must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Always turn off power at the service panel before servicing or cleaning the unit.
- Do not operate blowers when filters are removed.
- Clean grease-laden surfaces frequently to reduce fire risk.
- Use only metal ductwork. This unit MUST be grounded.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the duct to prevent back-drafting.
- When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, be careful not to damage electrical wiring or other hidden utilities.
- Keep all fan, baffle, and grease filters clean. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate.
- Always turn range hood ON when cooking at high heat or when cooking flaming foods.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.
Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. This range hood is designed for under-cabinet mounting.
1. Installation Planning
- Measure the distance between the stove top and the bottom of the range hood. A distance of 27 to 30 inches is recommended for ideal performance. The minimum safe distance is 25.5 inches.
- Decide on the venting method (top or rear) and the location of the venting pipe to the outside.
- Purchase any necessary accessories such as duct, elbows, reducer, damper, duct tape, or screws.
- Find and mark the stud locations using a stud finder to plan the mounting locations.
- Prepare the top vent and the power cord positions, cutting the openings slightly larger for easy accessibility.

2. Mounting the Range Hood
- Puncture the knockout screw holes on the top for screw mounting under the cabinet.
- Mount the range hood under the cabinet. Two people are required for this task.
- Route the power cord through the cabinet access opening and center the hood beneath the cabinet.
- From inside of the hood, place screws into the exact center of each knockout hole and secure to the cabinet bottom. Finish tightening all screws until secure.
CAUTION: Make sure the range hood is secure before releasing!
3. Connecting Power and Ductwork
- Plug the range hood into a 120V AC power source.
- Connect the ductwork to the vent adapter and extend it to the outside. Ensure all joints are properly taped for optimal performance.

Operating Instructions
Your HisoHu range hood features advanced controls for ease of use.
1. Control Panel Overview
The range hood is equipped with a touch control panel and gesture sensing technology. A remote control is also included for convenience.

2. Fan Speed Adjustment
The fan has 4 speed settings. You can adjust the speed using the touch controls or gesture sensing:
- Touch Control: Press the fan speed buttons on the control panel to cycle through the 4 speeds.
- Gesture Sensing: Wave your hand across the designated sensor area to increase or decrease fan speed. The advanced sensors offer a 99.8% success rate for accurate control.
3. LED Lighting
The range hood features 2 dimmable LED lights to illuminate your cooking area.
- Light Control: Press the light button on the control panel or remote to turn the lights on/off and adjust brightness.

4. Delayed Shut-off Feature
The delayed shut-off feature allows the fan to continue running for a set period after cooking to ensure all odors are cleared.
- Activating Delay: Press the timer button on the control panel or remote to set the desired delay time (1-15 minutes).

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your range hood.
1. Cleaning Exterior Stainless Steel Surfaces
- Clean periodically with hot soapy water and a clean cotton cloth.
- DO NOT use corrosive or abrasive detergents, or steel wool/scouring pads, which will scratch and damage the stainless steel surface.
- If the hood looks splotchy, use a stainless steel cleaner to clean the surface. Always apply cleaning solution onto a cloth, not directly onto the control panel.
- Rub gently with a clean cotton cloth and dry with a soft towel to avoid water spots.
2. Cleaning Aluminum Filters
The aluminum baffle filters should be cleaned periodically to prevent grease buildup.
- Remove the filters by pulling the release tabs.
- Wash filters in warm soapy water or place them in a dishwasher.
- Ensure filters are completely dry before reinstalling.
- Filters must be cleaned periodically and replaced if damaged or excessively clogged.
