4. Setup Instructions
4.1 NVR Setup
- Connect the NVR to a monitor using the HDMI or VGA cable.
- Connect the USB mouse to a USB port on the NVR.
- Connect the NVR to your router using the included LAN cable for network access (optional for local viewing, but required for remote access and updates).
- Connect the NVR power supply to the NVR and plug it into an electrical outlet. The NVR will power on automatically.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including setting a password and configuring network settings.
4.2 Camera Installation
- Choose suitable locations for your cameras, ensuring they cover the desired surveillance areas and are within reach of the LAN cables. Consider the 130° wide-angle view.
- Mount each camera securely using the provided mounting screws. Ensure the camera is positioned to avoid direct sunlight or strong light sources that could cause glare.
- Connect one end of the 18.2-meter LAN cable to the camera's POE port. Ensure the waterproof connector is properly sealed if installing outdoors.
- Connect the other end of the LAN cable to an available POE port on the NVR. The camera will power on and automatically connect to the NVR.
- Repeat for all four cameras.
4.3 Mobile App Setup (Remote Access)
- Download the free dedicated app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Search for "WEILAILIFE" or refer to the QR code in the manual.
- Register an account and log in.
- Add your NVR device by scanning the QR code displayed on the NVR's monitor or by manually entering the device ID.
- Once added, you can view live footage, play back recordings, and use the two-way audio feature from your smartphone or tablet.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Live View
On the NVR monitor or through the mobile app, select the desired camera channel to view live footage. You can switch between single-camera view and multi-camera grid view.
5.2 Recording
The system supports continuous recording, scheduled recording, and motion-triggered recording. By default, continuous recording is often enabled. You can configure recording settings via the NVR's menu or the mobile app.
- Continuous Recording: Records 24/7, overwriting the oldest footage when the HDD is full.
- Scheduled Recording: Set specific times for recording.
- Motion-Triggered Recording: Records only when motion is detected, saving storage space. AI human detection helps reduce irrelevant recordings.
5.3 Playback
Access recorded footage through the NVR's playback menu or the mobile app. You can search by date, time, and event type (e.g., motion detection).

5.4 Two-Way Audio
From the mobile app's live view, tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera's speaker and the speaker icon to hear audio from the camera's microphone.
6. Maintenance
- Camera Lens Cleaning: Periodically clean camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly check all cables for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections, especially for outdoor installations.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or the mobile app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Hard Drive Management: The 1TB HDD will automatically overwrite old footage. If you require longer retention, consider backing up important recordings or upgrading the HDD (up to 8TB supported).
- NVR Placement: Ensure the NVR is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
