6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on, press the red power button (U). The indicator light will illuminate.
  • To power off, press and hold the red power button (U) for approximately 2 seconds.
  • The device will automatically shut down after 5 minutes of inactivity to save battery life.

6.2 Sensitivity Adjustment

  • Press the green H/L button to switch between High Sensitivity (12V-1000V) and Low Sensitivity (48V-1000V).
  • High sensitivity is suitable for detecting low voltage circuits or tracing wires behind walls.
  • Low sensitivity is ideal for general voltage detection in outlets and power cords, reducing false positives from ambient electrical fields.

6.3 Non-Contact Voltage Detection

  1. Ensure the tester is powered on and the desired sensitivity mode is selected.
  2. Place the tip of the tester near the wire, outlet, or electrical component you wish to test.
  3. If AC voltage is detected, the tester's indicator light will flash and an audible beep will sound. The frequency of flashes and beeps increases with higher voltage or closer proximity to the voltage source.

6.4 Infrared Pointing Function and LED Flashlight

  • Press the green flashlight/infrared button (Y/A) once to turn on the LED flashlight. This illuminates the work area.
  • Press the flashlight/infrared button (Y/A) a second time to activate the infrared pointing function. This helps in precisely locating test points.
  • Press the flashlight/infrared button (Y/A) a third time to turn off both the flashlight and infrared function.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the tester with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears or if the tester does not power on. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.
  • Storage: Store the tester in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Tester does not power on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
  • No voltage detection: Ensure the tester is powered on and the tip is close enough to the voltage source. Check sensitivity setting (try High Sensitivity).
  • False positives/inconsistent readings: Ensure you are not using the side probe. Switch to Low Sensitivity if in an area with strong ambient electrical fields. Ensure proper grounding of the circuit being tested.
