Setup

1. Initial Winding

Your OLEVS automatic watch is powered by a mechanical movement and does not require a battery. For the first use, or if the watch has stopped due to insufficient power reserve, it needs to be manually wound. Turn the crown clockwise 30-40 full turns. This will build up an initial power reserve. After this, normal daily wear will keep the watch wound.

2. Setting Time and Date

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2: Gently pull the crown out to the first click. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the date change mechanism is active and could be damaged.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 3: Gently pull the crown out to the second click. Turn the crown to set the time. Ensure the hour hand passes 12 o'clock twice to correctly set AM/PM for the date change.
  3. Push the crown back in: Once the time and date are set, push the crown firmly back into its original position (position 1) to ensure water resistance.

3. Adjusting the Bracelet

The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted to fit your wrist size. This typically involves removing or adding links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a professional watchmaker or jeweler to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch. A specialized tool may be required if you choose to do it yourself.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Winding

Once initially wound, the watch's automatic movement will self-wind through the motion of your arm while wearing it. For optimal performance, wear the watch for at least 8-12 hours daily. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding again.

Luminous Function

The watch features luminous hands and hour markers for visibility in low light conditions. To activate the luminous function for the first time, or if it appears dim, expose the watch to a strong light source (e.g., sunlight or a bright lamp) for approximately 30 seconds. The luminous material will absorb light and glow in the dark.

Water Resistance

This watch is water-resistant to 30 meters (3 ATM). This rating means it is suitable for daily waterproofing, such as splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water like during hand washing or showering. It is not suitable for swimming, diving, snorkeling, or any activities involving prolonged water immersion or high-pressure water exposure. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in and tightened to maintain water resistance.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel bracelet and case, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the watch's finish or seals.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical watches.

Service

For any internal maintenance or repairs, it is recommended to consult a qualified watch technician. Attempting to open the watch case yourself may void the warranty and cause damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch has stopped: This is common for automatic watches if not worn for an extended period. Manually wind the watch by turning the crown 30-40 times clockwise. Then, wear it regularly to keep it wound.
  • Watch is losing or gaining time: Mechanical watches are not as precise as quartz watches. A deviation of +/- 15-30 seconds per day is generally considered acceptable for an automatic movement. If the deviation is significantly higher, or if the watch stops frequently despite regular wear, it may require inspection by a professional.
  • Date not changing or difficult to set: Ensure you are not attempting to set the date between 9 PM and 3 AM. If the issue persists, ensure the crown is fully pulled out to the correct position for date adjustment.
  • Crown feels loose or does not push in: Ensure the crown is not cross-threaded. If it feels loose or cannot be fully pushed in, do not expose the watch to water and contact customer support immediately, as water resistance may be compromised.
