4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the planer is switched off.
- Insert a charged PARKSIDE X 20 V Team series battery (e.g., 4 Ah recommended) into the battery slot until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.

4.2 Dust Extraction Connection
Attach the included adapter to the chip ejection port. Connect an external vacuum cleaner hose to the adapter for efficient dust and chip collection during operation.
4.3 Blade Installation/Replacement
Always remove the battery before handling blades. The planer uses reversible HSS blades. Refer to the tool's integrated storage compartment for the necessary mounting tools. Carefully loosen the blade clamping screws, remove the old blade, insert the new or reversed blade, and securely tighten the screws. Ensure blades are correctly seated and balanced.

5. Operation
5.1 Adjusting Planing Depth
The planing depth can be adjusted from 0-2 mm using the depth adjustment knob located at the front of the tool. Rotate the knob to select the desired depth. Start with a shallow depth and increase gradually if needed.
5.2 Planing Technique
- Secure the workpiece firmly.
- Hold the planer with both hands, ensuring a firm grip on the soft grip handle.
- Place the front shoe of the planer flat on the workpiece.
- Start the planer and allow the motor to reach full speed before moving it forward.
- Apply even pressure and move the planer smoothly across the workpiece.
- For chamfering, use one of the three V-grooves on the planing base.

5.3 Chip Ejection
The chip ejection direction can be switched between left and right to suit your working conditions and prevent chips from interfering with your work area.

- Cleaning: After each use, remove the battery and clean the tool, especially the chip ejection port and planing base, with a brush or compressed air. Do not use water or solvents.

- General Check: Periodically check all screws and fasteners for tightness.
