Mityvac MV7110

Mityvac MV7110 Fluid Extractor Dispenser Instruction Manual

Brand: Mityvac | Model: MV7110

1. Introduction

The Mityvac MV7110 is a versatile pneumatic fluid evacuator and dispenser designed for handling a wide range of automotive fluids. It can be used for evacuating, topping-off, refilling reservoirs, or pressure bleeding hydraulic brake and clutch systems in various vehicles, including light, medium, and heavy-duty agricultural, commercial, and industrial equipment. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your MV7110 unit.

2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when operating the Mityvac MV7110. Failure to follow safety precautions can result in injury or damage to equipment.

3. What's in the Box

The Mityvac MV7110 kit includes the following components:

4. Setup

  1. Prepare the Unit: Ensure the fluid reservoir is clean and empty before use.
  2. Connect Air Supply: Attach your compressed shop air supply (up to 120 PSI) to the quick-connect fitting on the reservoir lid.
  3. Select Adapter: Choose the appropriate adapter for your vehicle's master cylinder or fluid reservoir.
  4. Install Adapter: Remove the existing cap from the master cylinder or reservoir and securely install the selected adapter. The adapter features a swivel head fitting for optimal hose connection.

  5. Connect Hose: Attach the MVA575 flex hose to the adapter.
  6. Test for Leaks: With the flow control valve in the open position, pump the unit to the recommended pressure (e.g., 10 PSI). Check for any leaks around the master cylinder, hoses, and connections. The gauge should hold pressure. If no leaks are detected, release the pressure by tilting the valve.
  7. Add Fluid (for dispensing/bleeding): Pour the correct type and amount of new fluid into the reservoir. Consult your vehicle's service manual for the recommended fluid type and quantity.
  8. Hang Unit: Use the included hanging hook to suspend the unit in a stable, level position, especially when bleeding brakes.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Fluid Extraction

  1. Connect Air Supply: Ensure compressed air is connected.
  2. Select Vacuum Mode: Manipulate the slide valve and throttle on the reservoir lid to generate vacuum.
  3. Insert Wand: Insert the appropriate evacuation wand into the fluid to be extracted (e.g., engine oil dipstick tube, power steering reservoir).
  4. Extract Fluid: The vacuum will draw the fluid into the MV7110's reservoir. The unit has overflow protection for safe operation.

5.2. Fluid Dispensing / Pressure Bleeding

  1. Add Fluid: Ensure the MV7110 reservoir contains the correct new fluid.
  2. Select Pressure Mode: Manipulate the slide valve and throttle on the reservoir lid to generate positive pressure.
  3. Set Pressure: Pump the unit to the recommended pressure (e.g., 10 PSI for brake bleeding, or as specified by the vehicle manufacturer).
  4. Connect to Fill Point: For dispensing, connect the hose with the appropriate wand to the fill point of the reservoir (e.g., transmission fill plug, power steering reservoir). For brake bleeding, connect the hose to the master cylinder adapter.
  5. Dispense Fluid: Open the flow control valve to dispense fluid.
  6. Brake Bleeding Procedure:
    • Consult your service manual for the proper bleeding sequence (e.g., farthest wheel from master cylinder first).
    • Attach a bleed bottle or suitable container to the bleeder screw of the caliper/wheel cylinder.
    • Open the bleeder screw. Fluid will flow out under pressure from the MV7110.
    • Monitor the fluid for air bubbles. Close the bleeder screw once clear, bubble-free fluid is observed.
    • Repeat for all wheels in the specified sequence.
    • Continuously monitor the fluid level in the MV7110 reservoir to ensure it does not run dry during bleeding.
  7. Finish: Once complete, release pressure from the MV7110, disconnect hoses and adapters, and reinstall original caps.
