2. Important Safety Instructions

When using pressure cookers, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of injury or damage. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury.

  • Read All Instructions: Familiarize yourself with all operating procedures and safety warnings before use.
  • Proper Filling: Never fill the pressure cooker more than two-thirds (2/3) full. For foods that expand during cooking (e.g., rice, legumes), do not fill more than half (1/2) full. Always use at least the minimum amount of liquid specified in recipes.
  • Secure Lid Closure: Ensure the lid is properly closed and locked before applying heat. The locking indicator will audibly click and switch from red to green when securely sealed.
  • Pressure Release: Never attempt to force open the pressure cooker while it is under pressure. Always release pressure completely before opening the lid.
  • Heat Source: Use the pressure cooker only on appropriate stovetops (gas, electric, ceramic, induction).
  • Children: Close supervision is necessary when the pressure cooker is used near children.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Wash the pot, lid, and all removable parts with warm soapy water before first use. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Lid Assembly: Ensure the sealing ring is correctly seated inside the lid.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Preparing for Cooking

  1. Add Ingredients: Place your ingredients into the pressure cooker. Always add at least the minimum required liquid (e.g., water, broth). Do not exceed the maximum fill line (2/3 full, or 1/2 for expanding foods).
  2. Close the Lid: Align the metal tab marked "CLOSE" on the lid with the groove in the pot handle. Turn the lid to the right until the locking indicator clicks from red to green, confirming a secure seal.

5.2. Setting the Cooking Level

The Vitavit Premium features a control knob on the lid to select your desired cooking setting:

  • Setting 1 (Gentle Cooking): Ideal for delicate dishes like fish or vegetables.
  • Setting 2 (Quick Cooking): Suitable for most vegetables and general cooking.
  • Setting 3 (Express Cooking): For stews, meat, and other dishes requiring higher pressure and faster cooking.
  • Steam Setting: For gentle steaming or cooking without pressure.

5.3. Pressure Building and Traffic Light System

Place the pressure cooker on the stovetop and set the heat to the highest energy level. The cooking indicator on the lid will show the pressure rising:

  • Yellow Ring: Your cooking temperature is almost reached. Reduce the heat to maintain the desired pressure.
  • Green Ring: The cooking setting has been reached. Your cooking time starts now. Regulate the heat to keep the indicator in the green area.
  • Red Ring: The pressure in the pot is too high. Reduce the heat immediately. If not, the pot will automatically and safely regulate the pressure.

5.4. Releasing Pressure and Opening the Lid

After cooking, the pressure must be released before the lid can be opened. There are three main methods:

  1. Gradual Steam Release (with valve): Gradually turn the cooking valve towards the steam release position. Steam will escape. Continue until no more steam escapes and the cooking indicator has completely lowered.
  2. Quick Steam Release (with handle button): Press the control button lightly in the direction of the arrow on the handle to release steam. Continue pressing until the cooking indicator has completely lowered and no more steam escapes.
  3. Natural Pressure Release (energy saving): Remove the pressure cooker from the stovetop shortly before the end of cooking time. The residual heat from the base will continue cooking and allow the pressure to release naturally. Once the cooking indicator has lowered, press the button to release any remaining steam.

The Fissler pressure cooker lid will only open when there is no more pressure inside the pot. Once the indicator is fully lowered, press the button on the handle and turn the lid to the left to open.
