4. Setup and Installation

This section provides step-by-step instructions for installing your Oria Double Pure Water Treatment Station. It is recommended to install the system under a sink or at the main water inlet.

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable location, typically under the sink, ensuring easy access for maintenance and sufficient space for the unit (dimensions: 43L x 9.5W x 34H cm).
  2. Turn Off Water Supply: Locate your main water shut-off valve and turn off the water supply to your home. Open a faucet to relieve pressure in the pipes.
  3. Mount the Bracket: Securely mount the provided bracket to a sturdy surface using appropriate screws and anchors. Ensure it is level.
  4. Connect Bypass Assembly: Attach the bypass assembly, including the flexible hose and valves, to the main filtration unit. Use Teflon tape on threaded connections to prevent leaks. The bypass allows water to flow around the filters when they are being changed.
  5. Install Cartridges:
    • Unscrew the filter bowls using the provided wrench.
    • Insert the 25-micron wound cartridge into the first housing (inlet side).
    • Insert the polyphosphate anti-limescale cartridge into the second housing (outlet side).
    • Ensure the cartridges are seated correctly and screw the bowls back on hand-tight, then use the wrench for a final snug turn (do not overtighten).
  6. Connect to Water Line: Connect the inlet of the bypass assembly to your cold water supply line and the outlet to your faucet or desired water line using the swivel nut fittings. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.
  7. Flush the System: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Open a filtered water faucet to allow air to escape and flush the system for 5-10 minutes until the water runs clear. Check for any leaks.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Oria Double Pure system operates automatically. Water flows through the filters, providing treated water to your tap.

  • Normal Operation: Ensure all bypass valves are set to allow water flow through both filter housings.
  • Using the Bypass: In case of maintenance (e.g., cartridge replacement) or if you need to temporarily bypass the filtration system, close the inlet and outlet valves to the filter housings and open the bypass valve. This will allow untreated water to flow directly to your tap. Remember to revert the valves to normal operation after maintenance.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance, primarily cartridge replacement, is essential to ensure optimal performance of your Oria Double Pure system.

6.1. Cartridge Replacement

Cartridges should be replaced every 12 months for a household of 4 people, or sooner if you notice a decrease in water flow or quality.

  1. Activate Bypass: Close the inlet and outlet valves to the filter housings and open the bypass valve to maintain water supply to your home.
  2. Depressurize: Open a filtered water faucet to release any remaining pressure in the system.
  3. Unscrew Filter Bowls: Place a bucket underneath the filter housings to catch any residual water. Use the provided wrench to carefully unscrew the filter bowls.
  4. Remove Old Cartridges: Discard the used wound and polyphosphate cartridges.
  5. Clean Housings: Clean the inside of the filter bowls with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Inspect and lubricate the O-rings if necessary, or replace them if damaged.
  6. Install New Cartridges: Insert new 25-micron wound and polyphosphate cartridges into their respective housings. Ensure they are properly seated.
  7. Reassemble: Screw the filter bowls back onto the system hand-tight, then use the wrench for a final snug turn. Do not overtighten.
  8. Return to Normal Operation: Close the bypass valve and slowly open the inlet and outlet valves to the filter housings.
  9. Flush System: Open a filtered water faucet and flush the system for 5-10 minutes to remove any air and fine particles from the new cartridges. Check for leaks.
