Step 2: Assemble the Cross Beams (C1 & C2)
Similar to Step 1, connect four C1 pieces with four C2 pieces using the remaining G (4-hole) plates and screws. These will form the cross beams.
Step 3: Assemble the Roof Slats (D1 & D2)
Connect eight D1 pieces with eight D2 pieces using the G (5-hole) plates and screws. These will form the primary roof slats.
Step 4: Attach Side Beams to Posts
Attach the A1 and A2 pieces to the top of the main posts (B1+B2) using the long bolts. Ensure the pieces are aligned correctly.

Step 6: Attach E-shaped Braces
Secure the E1 and E2 braces to the corners of the pergola frame using the specified screws and bolts. These braces provide additional structural support.

Step 8: Install Primary Roof Slats
Place the assembled D (D1+D2) roof slats across the top of the pergola frame, ensuring even spacing. These slats provide the initial shading structure.
Step 9: Install Secondary Roof Slats
Finally, place the I pieces (secondary roof slats) perpendicular to the primary slats, creating a grid pattern. Secure them with the small screws. This completes the roof structure.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and appearance of your U-MAX Wood Pergola.
- Cleaning: Clean the wood surfaces periodically with a mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Wood Treatment: To maintain the natural wood finish and protect against weathering, consider applying a wood sealant or stain annually, or as recommended by the product's wood type.
- Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all bolts and screws to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain structural integrity.
- Snow and Wind: While designed to support snow and wind, in areas with heavy snowfall or extreme winds, it is advisable to clear snow accumulation from the top and consider additional anchoring for severe weather conditions.
- Pest Control: Inspect the wood for any signs of insect activity. Treat as necessary with appropriate wood-safe pest control products.
