4. Operating Modes
The Waytronic CT80D offers five distinct operating modes to suit various security needs. The device uses a built-in PIR human infrared sensor for motion detection.

Figure 4.1: Visual representation of the five available operating modes.
4.1 Mode 1: 24-Hour Sound and Flash Alarming
In this mode, the alarm will trigger with both sound (120dB siren) and flashing lights whenever motion is detected, regardless of the time of day. This mode provides continuous, active deterrence.
Video 4.1: Demonstration of the 24-hour sound and flash alarm mode, showing the device activating with both light and sound upon motion detection.
4.2 Mode 2: 24-Hour Silent Alarming (Flash Only)
This mode activates only the flashing lights upon motion detection, without any sound. It operates 24 hours a day, providing a visual alert without disturbing the surroundings with noise.
Video 4.2: Demonstration of the 24-hour silent alarm mode, showing the device flashing upon motion detection without emitting sound.
4.3 Mode 3: Night Flash / Alarm Mode
In this mode, the alarm will only activate with both sound and flashing lights when motion is detected during nighttime hours. During the day, the device will not respond to motion. The device automatically judges whether it is night based on ambient light levels.
Video 4.3: Demonstration of the night flash/alarm mode, illustrating that the alarm is triggered at night with sound and light, but not during the day.
4.4 Mode 4: Night Flash Only Mode
Similar to Mode 3, this mode activates only the flashing lights upon motion detection during nighttime hours, with no sound. The device will not respond to motion during the day.
Video 4.4: Demonstration of the night flash only mode, showing the device flashing at night upon motion detection without emitting sound, and no response during the day.
4.5 Mode 5: Hazardous Area Prompt Mode
In this mode, the warning light will continuously flash, serving as a visual indicator for a hazardous or restricted area. This mode does not involve motion detection or sound activation.
Video 4.5: Demonstration of the hazardous area prompt mode, showing the warning light continuously flashing.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Waytronic CT80D alarm, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Alarm not charging via solar panel. | Insufficient sunlight; dirty solar panel; internal battery issue. | Relocate the unit to an area with direct sunlight. Clean the solar panel. If the issue persists, try charging via USB. |
| Motion sensor not detecting or false alarms. | Obstructions in detection path; incorrect mounting height; environmental factors (e.g., strong winds, moving foliage); sensor sensitivity. | Ensure a clear line of sight for the sensor. Adjust mounting height (optimal range 2-12 meters). Consider the environment; the sensor has a 120° angle. |
| Siren or strobe light not activating. | Incorrect mode selected; low battery; internal malfunction. | Verify the selected operating mode using the set button. Ensure the battery is charged. If the problem continues, contact customer support. |
| Device not responding to set button presses. | Low battery; button malfunction. | Charge the device fully. If the button remains unresponsive, contact customer support. |
