Before first use, fully charge your Kindle Scribe. Connect the included USB-C cable to the device and a power source (computer USB port or 5W USB-C power adapter, sold separately). A full charge takes approximately 7 hours via computer or 3.5 hours with a 5W adapter.
Press and hold the power button located on the side of the device until the screen illuminates.
Follow the on-screen prompts to connect to a Wi-Fi network. The Kindle Scribe supports 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks with WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 security. Amazon Wi-Fi simple setup can automatically connect to your home network.
Register your Kindle Scribe to your Amazon account to access your Kindle library, purchase new content, and utilize cloud features.
Navigate your library using the touch screen. Tap on a book cover to open it. While reading, tap the right side of the screen to turn the page forward, or the left side to go back. Tap the top of the screen to access reading options and menus.
The Premium Pen allows for precise writing and drawing. It attaches magnetically to the side of the Kindle Scribe for storage.

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and body of your Kindle Scribe. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
The Kindle Scribe offers extended battery life. For reading, a single charge can last up to 12 weeks (based on 30 minutes of reading per day with wireless off and light setting at 13). For writing, a single charge lasts up to 3 weeks (based on 30 minutes of writing per day with wireless off and light setting at 13). Battery life varies based on usage and other factors.
If your Premium Pen tip wears down, use the included replacement tips and tool. Gently pull out the old tip with the tool and insert a new one until it clicks into place.
If your Kindle Scribe is unresponsive, try a forced restart. Press and hold the power button for 40 seconds until the device restarts. If the issue persists, ensure the device is charged.
Ensure your Wi-Fi router is on and within range. Try restarting your router and then attempting to reconnect your Kindle Scribe. Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
Check if the pen tip is properly seated. If the tip is worn, replace it. Ensure the pen is not damaged. The Premium Pen does not require charging.
Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and registered to the correct Amazon account. Sync your Kindle Scribe to refresh your library. For sent documents, confirm they were sent to the correct device and format.
