1. Introduction

Welcome to the world of drone flying with your new Cheerwing U73 Mini Drone. This manual provides essential information for safe operation, setup, and maintenance of your drone. Please read it thoroughly before your first flight.

3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to prepare your Cheerwing U73 Mini Drone for its first flight.

3.1. Battery Installation and Charging

The drone comes with two rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries. Ensure they are fully charged before use.

  1. Insert the drone battery into the drone's battery compartment.
  2. Connect the USB charging cable to the battery and a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter). The indicator light on the charging cable will show charging status.
  3. For the remote control, open the battery compartment and insert 3 AAA batteries (not included), observing polarity.

3.2. Propeller Guard Installation

For added safety, especially for beginners, install the propeller guards.

  1. Gently unfold the drone arms.
  2. Align each propeller guard with the corresponding motor arm and snap it into place. Ensure it is securely attached.

4. Operating the Drone

Familiarize yourself with the controls and features for an optimal flying experience.

4.1. Remote Control Overview

The remote control allows for precise manipulation of the drone. Refer to the diagram below for button functions.

4.2. First Flight Procedures

  1. Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
  2. Turn on the drone, then turn on the remote control. The indicator lights will flash.
  3. Pairing: Push the left joystick up then down to pair the drone with the remote. The lights will become solid when paired.
  4. One Key Takeoff: Press the One Key Takeoff button to automatically launch the drone to a stable hovering height.
  5. Altitude Hold: The drone will maintain its altitude automatically, making it easier to control.
  6. Landing: Press the One Key Landing button to initiate an automatic landing.

4.3. Advanced Features

  • WiFi FPV Transmission & APP Control: Download the dedicated app to your smartphone. Mount your phone on the remote control to view real-time FPV (First Person View) footage from the drone's 720P HD camera. Control the drone directly from the app.
  • Voice Control: Use simple voice commands like "Take off", "Landing", "Fly away" for hands-free control.
  • Gesture Shooting: Make a "V" sign gesture to the camera, and the drone will automatically take photos within 3 seconds.
  • 360° Flips: Execute impressive aerial stunts with the 360° flip function.
  • 2 Speed Modes: Switch between high and low speed modes to suit your skill level and flying environment.
  • Trajectory Flight: Draw a flight path on your smartphone screen, and the drone will follow the designated route.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drone.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone body and camera lens. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for any damage (cracks, bends). Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spare parts and screwdriver.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not overcharge or over-discharge. If not used for extended periods, charge them to about 50% capacity.
  • Motor Protection: The drone features motor stuck protection. If motors stop due to obstruction, clear the obstruction and restart the drone.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Cheerwing U73 Mini Drone, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

Note: The drone has a Low Battery Power and Out of Range Alarm. When the drone is about to exceed the flight range or has low battery, the transmitter will sound an alarm to prompt you to return the drone immediately.
