3. Safety Information
- Read all instructions carefully before operating the device.
- Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
- Use only the provided 12V power adapter to prevent damage and ensure stable performance.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the unit yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Avoid placing the unit near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your LiNKFOR MA400 Headphone Amplifier:
- Power Connection: Connect the included 12V power adapter to the '12V ===' input jack on the MA400 and then plug it into a power outlet. The 'ON' LED indicator will illuminate.
- Microphone Input: Connect your XLR microphone to the 'MIC INPUT' XLR jack on the MA400. Important Note: The MA400 amplifier does not provide phantom power. If you are using a condenser microphone, an external phantom power supply is required and must be connected separately between the microphone and the MA400.
- Monitor Input: Connect the audio output from your mixing console, audio interface, or computer to the 'MONITOR INPUT' 1/4'' (6.35mm) jack on the MA400.
- Headphone Output: Connect your headphones to either the 'PHONES' 1/4'' (6.35mm) or 1/8'' (3.5mm) output jack on the front of the unit.

5. Operating Instructions
Once the MA400 is set up, you can begin operation:
- Power On: Ensure the power adapter is connected and the unit is powered on (green 'ON' LED).
- Adjust Microphone Level: Use the 'MIC LEVEL' knob to adjust the volume of the microphone signal in your headphones. Start at a low level and gradually increase to a comfortable listening volume.
- Adjust Monitor Level: Use the 'MON LEVEL' knob to adjust the volume of the monitor input signal (from your mixer/computer) in your headphones. Adjust this independently of the microphone level.
- Mono/Stereo Selection: Use the 'MONO/STEREO' switch to select your desired monitoring mode. 'STEREO' is typically used for music playback, while 'MONO' can be useful for vocal monitoring or when combining signals.
- GND LIFT: If you experience hum or ground loop noise, press the 'GND LIFT' button. This can help eliminate static interference by lifting the ground connection.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the MA400 in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessive dust.
- Cable Care: Ensure all cables are connected securely and are not bent or crimped, which can lead to signal loss or damage.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Sound from Headphones:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the 'ON' LED is illuminated.
- Check that your headphones are properly plugged into one of the 'PHONES' output jacks.
- Verify that both 'MIC LEVEL' and 'MON LEVEL' knobs are turned up sufficiently.
- Confirm that the audio source (microphone, mixer, computer) is sending a signal to the MA400.
- Humming or Buzzing Noise:
- Press the 'GND LIFT' button to see if it eliminates ground loop noise.
- Check all audio cables for damage or loose connections.
- Ensure the power adapter is not near other electrical devices that might cause interference.
- Condenser Microphone Not Working:
- The MA400 does not provide phantom power. Ensure your condenser microphone is connected to an external phantom power supply before connecting to the MA400.
- Verify the external phantom power supply is active and providing 48V.
- Distorted Audio:
- Reduce the 'MIC LEVEL' or 'MON LEVEL' knobs to prevent clipping.
- Check the output level of your audio source (mixer, computer) to ensure it's not too high.
