2. Important Safety Information

• Fuel Safety: Gasoline is highly flammable. Always refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator.

5. Setup

5.1 Adding Engine Oil

Your generator is shipped without engine oil. You must add the correct amount of oil before the first start.

1. Place the generator on a level surface.
2. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick on the side of the generator. You may need to unscrew the side housing to access it.
3. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
4. Using the provided oil funnel, carefully pour 10W-30 engine oil into the oil fill opening. The oil filler angle can be unusual, so pour slowly to avoid spillage.
5. Fill until the oil level reaches the upper mark on the dipstick (do not overfill).
6. Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick and secure the side housing if removed.

5.2 Adding Fuel

WARNING: Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or any gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol. Never refuel while the engine is running or hot.

1. Ensure the generator is off and cool.
2. Locate the fuel cap on top of the generator.
3. Unscrew and remove the fuel cap.
4. Carefully pour gasoline into the fuel tank, filling it to approximately 1 inch below the top of the filler neck to allow for fuel expansion. The tank capacity is 5 gallons.
5. Securely replace the fuel cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Starting the Generator

1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
2. Check oil and fuel levels.
3. Turn the Start/Stop/Choke dial to the "CHOKE" position.
4. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and steadily until the engine starts.
5. Once the engine starts, slowly move the Start/Stop/Choke dial to the "RUN" position.
6. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes to warm up before connecting any electrical loads.

6.2 Connecting Electrical Devices

The generator provides 2200 running watts and 2500 starting watts. Refer to the wattage chart below to estimate your power needs.

1. Ensure the generator is running smoothly.
2. Plug your electrical devices into the appropriate outlets on the control panel.
3. Avoid overloading the generator. The total wattage of all connected devices should not exceed the running wattage.
4. For sensitive electronics, the inverter technology provides clean power, but always ensure devices are in good working order.

6.3 Stopping the Generator

1. Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
2. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
3. Turn the Start/Stop/Choke dial to the "STOP" position.
4. Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position (if applicable).

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your generator.

7.1 Engine Oil Change

Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use 10W-30 engine oil.

1. Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then shut it off.
2. Place a drain pan beneath the oil drain plug.
3. Remove the oil drain plug and the oil fill cap/dipstick to allow the oil to drain completely.
4. Reinstall the oil drain plug.
5. Refill with the recommended amount and type of new oil (refer to Section 5.1).
6. Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.

7.2 Air Filter Inspection and Cleaning

Inspect the air filter every 50 hours or monthly. Clean or replace if dirty.

1. Remove the air filter cover.
2. Remove the foam filter element.
3. Wash the filter element in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry completely.
4. Lightly oil the foam filter with engine oil, then squeeze out excess oil.
5. Reinstall the filter element and cover.

7.3 Spark Plug Inspection

Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if necessary.

1. Remove the spark plug cap.
2. Use the provided spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug.
3. Inspect for carbon buildup or wear. Clean with a wire brush or replace if electrodes are worn.
4. Set the spark plug gap according to specifications (refer to Section 8).
5. Reinstall the spark plug and cap.

7.4 Storage

For extended storage (more than 30 days), proper preparation is crucial.

1. Fuel System: Drain all fuel from the fuel tank and carburetor. Alternatively, use a fuel stabilizer according to the manufacturer's instructions. Running the generator dry of fuel is recommended for long-term storage.
2. Engine Oil: Change the engine oil (refer to Section 7.1).
3. Spark Plug: Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon of engine oil into the cylinder. Slowly pull the recoil starter a few times to distribute the oil, then reinstall the spark plug.
4. Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the generator.
5. Storage Location: Store the generator in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
