1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing LEDENET LED Strip Lights. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your new LED strip lights. These high-density, waterproof LED strips are designed for bright and uniform illumination in various indoor and outdoor settings.

Safety Warnings

  • Ensure the power supply is DC 12V and has a wattage higher than the connected LED strip to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.
  • Do not use these lights underwater, despite their IP67 waterproof rating. IP67 protects against dust and temporary water splashes, not continuous submersion.
  • Always disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
  • Do not bend the strip sharply or apply excessive force, as this may damage the LEDs or circuitry.
  • Keep out of reach of children. The low voltage is touchable and harmless, but proper installation is crucial.

2. Package Contents

The package includes the following items:

  • 1 x 5-meter (16.4ft) 2835 SMD Double Row Flexible LED Strip with 2400 LEDs

Note: DC 12V power supply, LED controller, and end caps are not included and must be purchased separately. For compatible end caps, refer to ASIN: B00NM7C8MG.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your LED strip lights:

  1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and smooth. Since the IP67 double-row sleeve is heavy, this LED strip does not come with double-sided adhesive. You will need to use appropriate mounting clips, channels, or adhesive suitable for the weight and surface.
  2. Plan the Layout: Determine the desired length and path for your LED strip.
  3. Cutting the Strip (Optional): If a shorter length is required, the LED strip can be cut at designated cutting marks, which are located every 6 LEDs. Use sharp scissors to ensure a clean cut.

  4. Connect Power Supply: Connect the LED strip to a compatible DC 12V power supply. The power supply's wattage must be higher than the total wattage of the connected LED strip (144W per 5M reel).

  5. Secure the Strip: Use appropriate mounting hardware (not included) to secure the LED strip firmly to the prepared surface.
  6. Test Functionality: Once installed, connect the power supply to an electrical outlet and test the LED strip to ensure it functions correctly.

5. Operating Instructions

Your LEDENET LED Strip Lights are designed for simple operation:

  • Power On/Off: Once connected to a power supply, the lights will illuminate. Use an external switch or controller (not included) to turn the lights on or off.
  • Dimming: These LED strips are dimmable from 0-100%. To utilize the dimming feature, you must connect the strip to a compatible DC 12V dimmable LED controller (not included). The controller typically allows adjustment via buttons or a remote control.
  • Color Temperature: This specific model provides a Cold White (6500K) light, offering a bright, daylight-like illumination.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your LED strip lights:

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the surface of the LED strip with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure the strip is completely dry before reconnecting power. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Waterproof Protection (IP67): The silicone sleeve provides IP67 protection, making the strip resistant to dust and temporary water splashes. This makes it suitable for outdoor, indoor, humid, and dusty environments. However, it is crucial to remember that it cannot be used underwater or submerged for extended periods.

  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the strip for any signs of damage, such as cuts, cracks, or loose connections. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage or safety hazards.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LED strip lights, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Lights do not turn on.
  • No power to the strip.
  • Incorrect voltage power supply.
  • Loose or incorrect wiring connection.
  • Faulty power supply or controller.
  • Check if the power supply is plugged in and receiving power.
  • Ensure a DC 12V power supply is used.
  • Verify all connections are secure and correctly wired (red to V+, black to W).
  • Test the power supply and controller with another device if possible, or replace if suspected faulty.
Lights are dim or flickering.
  • Insufficient power supply wattage.
  • Voltage drop over long runs.
  • Faulty dimmer/controller.
  • Ensure the power supply wattage exceeds the strip's total wattage.
  • For very long runs, consider injecting power at multiple points or using a higher gauge wire.
  • Test or replace the dimmer/controller.
Section of the strip is not lighting up.
  • Damage to that section of the strip.
  • Improper cut or connection at a cut point.
  • Inspect the non-working section for visible damage. If damaged, the section may need to be replaced or bypassed.
  • Ensure connections at cut points are properly made and sealed.
