3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your Amplicomms BigTel 1500 phone:

3.1. Unboxing and Package Contents

3.2. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Insert the two AAA rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

3.3. Connecting the Base Station

  1. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the "LINE" port on the base station.
  2. Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your telephone wall socket.
  3. Connect the power adapter to the "POWER" port on the base station.
  4. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.

3.4. Charging the Handset

Place the handset on the base station. The battery icon on the handset display will indicate charging. For optimal battery life, charge the handset for at least 16 hours before initial use.

3.5. Registering Additional Handsets (Optional)

The BigTel 1500 system can support multiple handsets. To register an additional handset:

  1. On the base station, press and hold the registration button (usually marked with a wireless icon) until the registration indicator light flashes.
  2. On the new handset, navigate to the "Register Handset" option in the menu.
  3. Enter the system PIN (default is usually 0000 or 1234, refer to the quick start guide for exact default).
  4. The handset will display a confirmation message once successfully registered.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Dial the number and press the Call button.
  • To Receive a Call: Press the Call button when the phone rings.
  • To End a Call: Press the End Call button or place the handset back on the base station.

4.2. Volume Adjustment

During a call, you can adjust the earpiece volume using the navigation keys. For amplified volume, press the dedicated boost button on the side of the handset.
