1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Sony ZV-E10 APS-C Interchangeable Lens Vlog Camera. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the camera and retain it for future reference.
The Sony ZV-E10 is a compact and lightweight (approximately 343g) interchangeable lens vlog camera, designed for easy portability. It features a vari-angle monitor for self-recording and diverse shooting angles. Equipped with both microphone and headphone terminals, and a multi-interface shoe supporting digital audio interfaces, it offers enhanced audio recording capabilities.

2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the package contents are present and undamaged. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your retailer.
2.2 Attaching the Lens
- Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens.
- Align the white index mark on the lens with the white index mark on the camera body.
- Mount the lens by turning it clockwise until it clicks into place.

2.3 Inserting the Battery and Memory Card
- Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the battery with the correct orientation until it locks into place.
- Insert a compatible memory card (SD, SDHC, SDXC, Memory Stick PRO Duo, etc.) into the slot until it clicks.
- Close the cover securely.
2.4 Charging the Battery
Connect the camera to a power source using the supplied USB cable and AC adapter to charge the battery. The charging indicator will light up during charging and turn off when complete.
2.5 Attaching the Wind Screen
The supplied wind screen can be attached to the Multi Interface Shoe to reduce wind noise during audio recording.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off
To power on the camera, slide the POWER switch to the ON position. To power off, slide it to the OFF position.
3.2 Basic Shooting Modes
The ZV-E10 offers various shooting modes for both still images and movies. Use the Mode Dial to select your desired mode.
3.3 Using the Vari-Angle Monitor
The vari-angle monitor can be rotated and tilted to suit various shooting angles, including self-recording (vlogging). This allows for flexible framing and monitoring during your shoots.

3.4 Autofocus Features
The camera features advanced autofocus capabilities, including Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking, which are highly effective during video recording to keep your subject in sharp focus.

3.5 Background Defocus Switch
Easily switch between a blurred background and a clear background with a single button press. This feature is ideal for emphasizing your subject in vlogs or portraits.

3.6 Product Showcase Setting
For product reviews, activate the Product Showcase Setting. This feature quickly shifts focus from your face to a product held up to the camera, then back to your face when the product is lowered.

3.7 Face Priority AE and Soft Skin Effect
The camera includes Face Priority AE to maintain natural brightness on faces and a Soft Skin Effect, adjustable in 4 levels, to enhance skin texture for self-recording.

3.8 Image Stabilization (Active Mode)
For stable handheld video recording, activate the electronic image stabilization in Active Mode. This helps reduce camera shake, making it easier for beginners to capture smooth footage.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Camera Body
Wipe the camera body gently with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution, then wipe dry.
4.2 Cleaning the Lens and Sensor
Use a blower brush to remove dust from the lens surface. For smudges, use a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Cleaning the image sensor should be done with extreme care or by a professional service.
4.3 Battery Care
Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging batteries for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Camera Does Not Turn On
- Ensure the battery is correctly inserted and fully charged.
- Check if the battery terminals are clean.
- Try using a different, fully charged battery.
5.2 Images Are Blurry
- Check if the lens is properly attached and clean.
- Ensure the autofocus is working correctly or adjust manual focus.
- Increase shutter speed or use image stabilization to prevent camera shake.
5.3 No Sound Recorded
- Verify that an external microphone (if used) is properly connected and powered.
- Check camera audio settings to ensure recording is enabled and levels are appropriate.
- Ensure the wind screen is not obstructing the microphone if using the built-in mic.
