Setup

1. Attaching Accessories

  1. Ensure the tool is unplugged.
  2. Press and hold the shaft lock button.
  3. Unscrew the collet nut.
  4. Insert the accessory shank fully into the collet.
  5. Tighten the collet nut securely using the provided wrench. Do not overtighten.

2. Attaching the Flex Shaft (Model 225)

The flex shaft provides extended reach and comfort for detailed work.

  1. Unplug the Dremel 3000 tool.
  2. Remove the collet nut and collet from the rotary tool.
  3. Unscrew the nose cap from the rotary tool.
  4. Insert the square end of the flex shaft's inner drive cable into the collet opening of the rotary tool.
  5. Thread the coupling nut of the flex shaft onto the rotary tool's housing until secure.
  6. Insert the desired accessory into the flex shaft's handpiece collet and tighten with the flex shaft wrench.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off and Variable Speed Control

2. Carbon Brush Replacement

The Dremel 3000 features replaceable motor brushes that extend tool life. Brushes should be inspected periodically and replaced when worn down to approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm).

  3. Unscrew the brush caps using a flathead screwdriver or the end of the wrench.
