Setup
Inserting Batteries for Charging
The PC2 charger accommodates various battery sizes. Proper insertion depends on the battery type.
- For 18650 Flat & Button Top batteries, and Unprotected Flat-20700/21700 batteries:
Insert the provided accessory bracket into the PC2's battery slots first. To secure 18650 batteries, rotate the buckle on the accessory bracket horizontally.
- For Protected Flat-20700/21700 batteries:
Remove the accessory bracket from the battery slots before inserting these larger protected batteries.
Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting batteries. The positive end of the battery should align with the positive contact in the charger, and the negative end with the negative contact.

Connecting the Charger
Connect the XTAR PC2 charger to a power source using the supplied USB-C cable. The charger's display will activate, showing input voltage/current and battery capacity percentage.
Video: This video demonstrates the unboxing, proper battery insertion with and without the accessory bracket, and connecting the charger to a power source. It also shows the display functionality during charging and power bank use.
Operating Instructions
Charging Batteries
Once batteries are correctly inserted and the charger is connected to a power source, charging will begin automatically. The digital display will show the charging status:
- Battery Capacity Percentage: Indicates the current charge level of the batteries.
- Input Voltage/Current: Shows the power being drawn by the charger.
Press the button on the side of the charger to cycle through the display information for each battery slot (B1 for battery 1, B2 for battery 2) or to return to the overall input display.
When removing batteries, pull the blue strap to easily lift them out of the slots.
Power Bank Function (Output)
The XTAR PC2 can act as a power bank to charge external devices. Ensure charged batteries are inserted into the PC2.
- Connect your external device (e.g., smartphone, Bluetooth headphones) to the PC2 using a USB-C or USB-A cable.
- The PC2 will automatically begin charging the connected device.
- The display will show the output voltage and current, along with the remaining battery capacity of the inserted cells.
The Type-C and USB-A ports can charge two external devices simultaneously.

Maintenance
- Keep the charger clean and dry. Avoid exposure to water or excessive humidity.
- Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the charger yourself. This will void the warranty and may cause damage or injury.
- Regularly check the USB-C cable for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure battery contacts are clean for optimal performance.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger not turning on/display off | No power input; faulty cable; charger malfunction. | Check USB-C cable connection and power source. Try a different cable or power adapter. If problem persists, contact support. |
| Batteries not charging | Incorrect battery insertion; incompatible battery type; poor contact; battery too deeply discharged. | Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity and the accessory bracket is used appropriately. Clean battery contacts. The OV activation function may revive deeply discharged batteries, but some may be beyond recovery. |
| External device not charging (Power Bank mode) | PC2 batteries are low; faulty output cable; device incompatibility. | Check the charge level of batteries in the PC2. Try a different output cable. Ensure your device is compatible with USB charging. |
| Display shows error or unusual readings | Internal error; extreme temperature; faulty battery. | Remove and reinsert batteries. Disconnect and reconnect power. Ensure operating within recommended temperature range. If a specific battery causes the issue, it may be faulty. |
