Setup and Installation

Pre-Installation Considerations

  • Screen Connector: The screen connector is a plug-and-play type. Ensure it is securely seated and consider using electrical tape to reinforce the connection to prevent accidental dislodgement during adjustment or vehicle movement.
  • Mounting: The radio body is compact. Custom brackets or modifications to factory brackets may be necessary to achieve a flush fit in some vehicles.
  • Antenna Adapter: Some vehicles may require a separate antenna adapter for proper radio reception. Verify your vehicle's requirements before installation.
  • Screen Detachment: For easier installation, the screen can be detached. Pull the large tab on the right side of the screen mount outwards. Then, push the small tab on the front of the mount forward while lifting the screen. A cover at the top of the screen where the ribbon cable connects can be removed to disconnect the cable.

Wiring Diagram

Refer to the following diagram for proper wiring connections. Incorrect wiring can damage the unit or vehicle electrical system.

  • Power Cable: Connect to vehicle's power supply (ACC, B+, Ground).
  • RCA Input/Output: For external audio/video devices.
  • USB Ports: For media playback, phone charging, and CarPlay/Mirror Link connections.
  • Camera Input: Connect the AHD/CVBS backup camera.
  • GPS Antenna: Connect for navigation functionality.
  • Steering Wheel Control (SWC): Connect to your vehicle's SWC wires for remote control.

Backup Camera Wiring

For the backup camera to function correctly:

  1. Connect the camera's power wire to the vehicle's reverse light power (12V) and ground.
  2. The camera wire typically has an orange trigger wire on each end. Connect the orange wire at the camera end to the 12V side of the camera's power supply.
  3. Connect the orange trigger wire at the head unit end to the 'Pink' wire labeled 'Parking Sensor' on the stereo's wiring harness. This wire signals the stereo to display the camera feed when reverse gear is engaged.
  4. Connect the RCA video cable from the camera to the yellow RCA Input labeled 'CAMIN' on the stereo's rear panel.
