Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to install your ceiling fan. It is recommended to have a second person assist during certain stages of installation.
- Prepare the Installation Area: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Remove any existing light fixture from the ceiling junction box.
- Install the Mounting Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached and can support the fan's weight.
- Assemble the Fan Unit: Attach the downrod (if applicable) to the fan motor assembly. Connect the necessary wires from the motor to the downrod wiring.
- Wire the Fan: Carefully connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring according to the wiring diagram in the instruction manual. Typically, this involves connecting live, neutral, and ground wires. Ensure the remote control receiver unit is correctly wired and placed within the canopy. This step is crucial for proper remote functionality.
- Mount the Fan: Lift the fan assembly and hang it onto the mounting bracket. Secure the fan to the bracket using the designated screws.
- Attach the Canopy: Slide the canopy up to the ceiling, covering the wiring and mounting bracket. Secure the canopy in place with the provided screws.
- Install the Light Bulbs: Insert the E26 base light bulbs (not included) into the six sockets within the fan's cage.
- Attach the Metal Cage: Secure the metal cage lampshade to the fan unit.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Figure 3: This image illustrates the dimensions of the Ohniyou ceiling fan, showing its 21-inch diameter and 9-inch height, along with the 7.5-inch and 14-inch inner cage measurements. It also highlights compatibility with E26 bulbs up to 60W and the remote control.
Operating Instructions
Your Ohniyou ceiling fan is operated using the included remote control. Ensure 2x AAA batteries (not included) are installed in the remote.
- Power On/Off: Press the 'ON/OFF' button to turn the fan and light on or off.
- Light Control: Use the 'LIGHT ON/OFF' button to control the light independently.
- Fan Speed: Select from 6 different fan speeds using the numbered buttons (1-6). Speed 1-2 provides a low, smooth wind suitable for sleeping, 3-4 offers a medium, natural wind for working, and 5-6 delivers a high-speed airflow for cooling during summer.
- Timing Function: Set a timer for the fan to automatically turn off after 1, 2, or 4 hours using the '1H', '2H', '4H' buttons.
- Reversible Motor: The fan features a reversible DC motor. Use the 'R' (Reverse) button to change the direction of the fan blades. In summer, the downdraft mode circulates air downward to create a cooling effect. In winter, the updraft mode enhances upward air circulation to distribute warm air evenly.
- Natural Wind Mode: Press the 'F' (Forward) button to activate the natural wind mode, which simulates a gentle, varying breeze.

Figure 4: This image highlights the remote control and its functions, including fan speed settings (1-6), timing options (1/2/4 hours), natural wind mode, reversible motor, and quiet airflow.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: To clean the fan, wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. The semi-open design allows for easy access to the fan blades for cleaning.
- Bulb Replacement: Ensure power is off before replacing bulbs. The fan uses 6 E26 light sockets. Replace bulbs as needed.
- Tighten Fasteners: Periodically check and tighten all screws and fasteners on the fan and mounting hardware to ensure secure operation.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not operate | No power to the fan; loose wire connections; remote control battery low. | Check circuit breaker. Ensure all wire connections are secure. Replace remote control batteries. |
| Light does not turn on | Light bulbs faulty or loose; incorrect wiring. | Check and replace light bulbs. Verify light wiring connections. |
| Fan wobbles | Loose mounting screws; unbalanced blades. | Ensure mounting bracket and fan screws are tight. Check for any bent or damaged blades. |
| Remote control not working | Batteries dead or incorrectly inserted; remote receiver issue. | Replace batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Re-pair remote with receiver if necessary (refer to manual for pairing instructions). |
