WORKPRO 10W Mini Hot Glue Gun (Model W099030) Instruction Manual

For DIY, Crafting, and Quick Repairs

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the WORKPRO 10W Mini Hot Glue Gun. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your new tool. Please read it thoroughly before operation and keep it for future reference.

This compact and efficient hot glue gun is designed for a wide range of applications, including home repairs, school projects, office tasks, and various crafts. It is suitable for bonding materials such as paper, wood, fabric, metal, glass, plastic, and ceramics.

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: Hot glue guns operate at high temperatures. Improper use can cause severe burns. Always exercise extreme caution.

  • Always keep the glue gun out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required if children are using the tool, and direct contact with the hot nozzle or melted glue must be prevented.
  • Do not touch the nozzle or melted glue when the glue gun is working or immediately after use, as they reach high temperatures.
  • Do not pull out a melting glue stick from the gun after use. Allow it to cool and remain inside for the next use. Removing it forcefully can damage the heating mechanism.
  • Avoid pressing the trigger during the preheating period (approximately 2.5 minutes). Prematurely pressing the trigger can damage the trigger mechanism.
  • Do not lift the glue gun nozzle upwards while in use or while hot. Always keep the nozzle pointed downwards or resting on its integrated stand to prevent glue from flowing back into the mechanism.
  • Unplug the power cord if the glue gun will not be used for more than 5 minutes.
  • Ensure the glue gun's nozzle is kept away from other objects when hot to prevent accidental burns or damage.
  • It is normal for the glue gun to drip a few drops of melted glue during operation. Place a protective mat or paper underneath.
  • Use only 7mm diameter glue sticks with this device. Using incorrect sizes can lead to malfunction or damage.
  • Do not operate the glue gun in damp or wet conditions.
  • Never attempt to disassemble or repair the glue gun yourself. Contact qualified service personnel.

5. Setup and First Use

  1. Insert Glue Stick: Insert a 7mm diameter glue stick into the round opening at the back of the glue gun. Push it gently until it stops.
  2. Position the Stand: Unfold the integrated stainless steel stand at the front of the glue gun. This stand allows the gun to rest securely on a flat surface, preventing the hot nozzle from touching your work area.
  3. Plug In: Connect the power cord to a suitable 230V AC power outlet.
  4. Preheat: Allow the glue gun to preheat for approximately 2 to 3 minutes. The intelligent thermostat control will ensure it reaches the optimal temperature for melting glue. Do not press the trigger during this period.
  5. Test (Optional): After preheating, you may gently press the trigger to check if the glue has melted and flows smoothly.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Apply Glue: Once preheated, gently squeeze the trigger to dispense melted glue. Apply the glue to one of the surfaces you wish to bond.
  2. Join Surfaces: Immediately press the two surfaces together firmly. Hot glue sets quickly, so work efficiently.
  3. Refill Glue Stick: As the glue stick shortens, gently push a new glue stick into the back of the gun to advance the current one. Do not force it.
  4. Resting the Gun: When not actively applying glue, always rest the gun on its integrated stand on a heat-resistant surface.
  5. Finishing Work: When you are finished, unplug the glue gun from the power outlet.

Tip: For best results, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or grease before applying glue.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Ensure the glue gun is completely unplugged and cooled down before cleaning. Gently wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Nozzle Care: Never attempt to clean the nozzle with sharp objects while the gun is hot. Any hardened glue around the nozzle can be carefully removed once the gun is completely cold.
  • Storage: Store the glue gun in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the power cord is not kinked or damaged during storage.
  • Glue Stick Management: Always leave a partially used glue stick in the gun. Removing it while still molten can damage the internal mechanism.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Glue not dispensingNot preheated sufficiently; Glue stick not inserted correctly; Trigger mechanism jammed.Allow 2-3 minutes for preheating. Ensure glue stick is fully inserted. Do not press trigger during preheat. If jammed, ensure gun is unplugged and cooled, then gently check for obstructions.
Glue drips excessivelyNormal operation; Gun is too hot. Some dripping is normal. Ensure the gun is resting on its stand. Unplug if not in use for extended periods.
Glue gun not heatingNot plugged in; Power outlet issue; Internal fault.Check if the power cord is securely plugged in. Test the outlet with another device. If still not heating, discontinue use and contact customer support.
Glue stick cannot be insertedIncorrect glue stick size; Old glue residue blocking entry.Ensure you are using 7mm diameter glue sticks. Check for and carefully remove any hardened glue residue from the entry point when the gun is cold.
